  • Patent number: 6256911
Abstract: The present device relates to an advertising device which simulates the bubbling formed in a glass container containing a sparkling beverage. The device comprises a transparent container in the shape of a glass with a lid thereon, the container having a hydro-alcoholic solution in the color of the product to be advertised. To create the bubbles, a closed circuit inert gas system (such as nitrogen) having a compressor, a check valve and a cyclone separator for separating the gas from an entrapped liquid is provided. The system has a first tube with a bubblier attached thereto for injecting micro-bubbles into the container, a second tube for capturing the inert gas at the surface of the liquid in the container, and a third tube for returning the liquid sprayed by the gas back into the container liquid. A panel is preferably provided on which the container is positioned, wherein a back-lighting device and intermittent lights that flash at a rate controlled by a timer can be provided to illuminate the device.

  • Patent number: 6253478
Abstract: A holder for receiving a placard with indicia, comprising a unitary upper member having a backing and a front face, at least a portion of which is transparent, the placard to be positioned therebetween. The front face and backing each have a lower edge portion oppositely positioned. An outwardly-directed protuberance extends above, and generally the length of, each of the lower edge portions. Each protuberance can have an eave. A recessed top portion of a support member receives and engages the lower edge portions. The engagement of the upper member to the support can be by way of sliding or downward snap- or press-fit engagement. The lower edge portions may inwardly dovetail (whether to the point of releasable interlock). A first vertical-side of the backing can be sealed along a first vertical-side of the front face and the recessed top can have open and closed ends.

  • Patent number: 6250002
Abstract: A specially engineered, low protrusion, visually symmetric small footprint system of mounting advertising displays to vehicles, such as trucks, tractor trailers, and vans, providing upward/downward adjustability, ease of frame removal and remounting, and over-center tensioning by means of specially designed rails which are attached to the surface of the vehicle. The rails are reversibly fastened to the surface of the vehicle, and can be easily and repeatedly removed and refastened in a short time. This is effected by sinking threaded screw seats into the wall on which the sign frame is mounted, providing permanent holes into which can be repeatedly screwed into and unscrewed from, the low protrusion screws which hold the sign frame to the wall. The hardware residue, after removal of the frame, is barely visible, with a very small footprint, being simply the protruding rims of the threaded screw seats.

  • Patent number: 6240664
Abstract: A sign plate for an edge-illuminated sign including a transparent sheet with a front face, a rear face and a transparent edge that connects the front face to the rear face, wherein the transparent edge is positioned to receive light from a light source for transmission along the transparent sheet. The sign plate further includes a front image layer disposed on a front face of the transparent sheet, wherein the front image layer has a reflective surface. A rear image layer is disposed on a rear face of the transparent sheet substantially in registry with the front image layer, wherein the front image layer and the rear image layer are positioned so that the light within the transparent sheet is reflected from the reflective surface onto the rear image layer thereby to enhance illumination of the rear image layer. The sign plate has a structure such that a portion of the light within the transparent sheet forms an image of a halo or aura of light surrounding the rear image layer.

  • Patent number: 6237268
Abstract: A sign stand having an improved resilient member to dissipate the torque-moment created by wind forces acting against a sign stand. The resilient member includes a coil spring, at least one plug having a helical protrusion and at least one mounting bracket. The plug is threaded into an end of the coil spring and the mounting bracket is fastened to the plug. A locking tab on the mounting bracket engages a flat ridge machined into at least one coil of the coil spring. This configuration eliminates relative rotation between the coil spring and the mounting bracket and as such, permits the effective transmission of torque into the coil spring while eliminating the potential for failure at the spring/bracket joint due to fatigue, fracture or mechanical loosening. The design of the resilient member also permits the servicing of each component as well as substantial weight reductions in the base of the sign stand.

  • Patent number: 6223404
Abstract: A customized design on its external surface. The invention also discloses a method for decorating the external surface of a casket to produce such custom designed surface. In the method of this invention, a substrate material is cut into panels that have shapes that correspond to the sections of the casket surface. This substrate shape will enable the substrate panels to fit exactly over the casket surface sections. A custom design is digitally imaged onto the substrate panels. Each panel contains a portion of the overall design. The interior side of each substrate panel is provided with an adhesive material to affix the panels to the casket surface. These substrate panels exhibiting portions of the overall design are applied sectionally to the casket surface in a manner to provide a seamless image, thereby creating an external casket surface having a custom appearance.

  • Patent number: 6219947
Abstract: The present device provides a baggage tag attachable to the handle of a piece of baggage for displaying indicia of the identification and destination of a passenger owning the baggage. The tag has a first or base ply and a second tear-resistant ply or liner. The underside faces of the base ply and tear-resistant liner are arranged for engagement with one another. An adhesive is disposed between the base ply and the liner for releasably sealing them together. It is preferred that a release coating be applied to the underside face of the liner. This allows the removal of the liner from the adhesive layer, allowing the adhesive to remain with the base ply. The base ply and liner each have cuts proximate one end thereof defining a claim stub. Upon removal of the claim stub, a length of the underside face of the base ply adjacent the base ply cut is exposed with the adhesive permitting the two tag ends to be secured around a bag handle.

  • Patent number: 6216377
Abstract: A credit card-size plastics display frame defines a front rectangular opening and coplanar side grooves peripherally around this opening for receiving a photograph and a protective window in front thereof, the window being usable as a template to cut an appropriately sized photograph from a standard size picture for insertion in the display frame. The photograph and the window are installed in the frame by front loading through the rectangular opening. The rear wall of the frame defines panels which can be selectively, and reversibly, folded back to form a foot member to allow the frame to stand on a horizontal surface. A diamond-shaped cutout is defined in the rear wall to allow the display frame to be hung on a wall with a nail and to facilitate the removal of the photograph and window from the frame.
