  • Patent number: 9491239
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing data and transmission of content are disclosed. One method can comprise receiving a first request from a first computing device via a network. An index can be received from a first storage medium in response to the first request. The index can be stored in a second storage medium. The first storage medium is located in the network upstream from the second storage medium relative to the first computing device. A second request can be received from one or more of the first computing device and a second computing device via the network. The index can be retrieved from the second storage medium in response to the second request.

  • Patent number: 9479587
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide a scalable multicast transport. The multicast transport protocol provides effectively reliable multicast delivery while avoiding the overhead associated with point-to-point protocols. Additional embodiments disclosed herein relate to a scalable object storage system that uses a multicast transport. The object storage system assigns responsibility for providing storage services for a chunk to a negotiating group of storage servers in the cluster using a shared and distributed hash allocation table. The object storage system dynamically determines a rendezvous group of storage servers in the cluster to store the chunk using the multicast transport. Other embodiments, aspects and features are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9479615
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing interstitial content are disclosed. A notification of an opportunity for presenting interstitial content on a client device is received at a content server. The content server generates an interstitial configuration object including computer-readable instructions for presenting the interstitial content on the client device and delivers the interstitial configuration object for execution by the client device. The interstitial configuration object causes the client device to render the interstitial content as a hidden element of a first resource while the first resource is presented on the client device and to reveal the rendered interstitial content in response to a user command to navigate away from the first resource.

  • Patent number: 9450913
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium for Content Delivery Networks Interconnection (CDNI) request routing using the PCP FLOWDATA option. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a request for content, and receiving, from a PCP server, flow characteristics for providing the content, where the PCP server receives the flow characteristics for providing the content from a PCP proxy that receives the flow characteristics from the client device. The method includes transmitting first data for querying the downstream content delivery network (CDN) to determine whether the downstream CDN can provide the content and satisfy the flow characteristics. The method includes receiving a response indicating the ability of the downstream CDN to provide the content and satisfy the flow characteristics, and transmitting second data based on the response, where the client device transmits flow metadata based on the second data to the PCP proxy.

  • Patent number: 9450895
Abstract: Messaging policies can be dynamically updated based on operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning (OAMP) data generated by data plane entities of a messaging network. For example existing messaging policies may be dynamically modified based on OAMP data generated by message brokers and/or network elements (e.g., queues). As another example, new messaging policies may be dynamically created based on the OAMP data. As another example, an updated set of messaging policies may be selected from a pool of policies based on the OAMP data. Dynamically updating messaging policies can be achieved using information model processing frameworks, such as the next generation directory enabled networks (DEN-ng) model. Various events may trigger the creation of new messaging policies and metrics, such as adding new data plane entities and/or network elements to the network, receiving new messaging instructions, etc.

  • Patent number: 9444765
Abstract: System and method for categorizing a plurality of network resources. Collected properties of a network resource are analyzed to determine applicability of various predefined categories to that network resource. At least one category from among the predefined categories is assigned to that network resource according to a determination of applicability of the at least one category to the network resource. A resource-specific time interval for re-categorizing each one of the network resources is dynamically adjusted based on a plurality of previous categorization results for that network resource, such that different network resources will be associated with correspondingly different re-categorization intervals.
