  • Patent number: 9120042
Abstract: A device for removing oil mist and odors from an airstream comprising a base having an air inlet in the lower end thereof for receiving an airstream. A first tubular filter has a first end and a second end. The first end is closed, and the second end is mounted on the base wherein the first tubular filter defines an inner chamber that is in communication with the air inlet. A second tubular filter is mounted on the base. The second tubular filter surrounds the first tubular filter and defines an outer chamber therebetween. An opening is formed through the base. The opening connects the outer chamber with the air inlet. A valve element is disposed in the base. The valve element allows flow from the outer chamber to the air inlet when pressure in the outer chamber exceeds pressure in the air inlet.

  • Patent number: 9062597
Abstract: A centrifugal separator comprises a filtered-gas passageway, a spinner, and a drive mechanism. The filtered-gas passageway has an inlet. The spinner is configured and adapted to rotate about a spinner axis relative to the filtered-gas passageway, and has an inner cavity, a gas permeable outer wall, and a plurality of protrusions that extend radially outward from the gas permeable outer wall relative to the spinner axis. The inner cavity of the spinner is operatively connected to the inlet of the filtered-gas passageway. The drive mechanism is adapted to rotate the spinner about the spinner axis at a rate such that the protrusions prevent particulates from passing through the gas permeable outer wall and into the inner cavity of the spinner and such that gaseous matter is able to pass through the gas permeable outer wall, into the inner cavity, and thereafter into the filtered-gas passageway via the inlet.

  • Patent number: 8920538
Abstract: A method and a device for compressing a gas-phase medium, particularly hydrogen or natural gas, in a single-stage or multistage process using at least one piston compressor, wherein the medium may have a water content up to total saturation with water. The medium to be compressed is heated before the compression at least to such point that the water is unable to condense out during the compression process, and the compressed medium undergoes a water separation process.

  • Patent number: 8888880
Abstract: A vacuum loader system is disclosed. In the vacuum loader system, the air inlet comprises a load-bearing member of a support structure that supports the system. The vacuum loader system also includes a filter chamber with co-located primary and secondary or safety filter elements. A safety filter element is at the center of the filter chamber, surrounded by primary filter elements. After the air flows through the primary and safety filter elements, it is directed downwardly, out of the filter chamber and back toward the blower, beyond which it is ultimately expelled through a silenced outlet. In some embodiments, the conduit that carries air from the filter chamber toward the blower may also be a member of the support structure.

  • Patent number: 8882873
Abstract: A vortex finder for a cyclone separator, comprising a plurality of superposed rings each including a plurality of suspended plate segments. Each of the plate segments includes a main plate having radially offset upper and lower end portions, opposite inner and outer faces, an upper support member integrally formed with the upper end portion to protrude from the outer face, and a lower support member integrally formed with the lower end portion to protrude from the inner face. The upper support member of the plate segments of the one of the rings engages and is supported by the lower support member of the plate segments of another of the rings positioned above the one of the rings. The lower support member defines an open-bottom pocket having at least one pass-through opening for fluidly connecting a space inside the vortex finder with a space outside the vortex finder.

  • Patent number: 8840698
Abstract: A fat or grease filter for a ventilator or exhaust hood is provided, and includes a cartridge assembly that is removably attached to a tube assembly. The cartridge assembly includes at least one helix assembly that is received in an associated tube of the tube assembly. The at least one helix assembly located inside the associated tube defines a first helical air path between an inlet located at an upper front side of the tube assembly and a bottom equalizer manifold connected to the associated tube, and a second helical air path between the equalizer manifold and an outlet located at an upper back side of the tube assembly. The equalizer manifold directs the air flow from the first to the second helical air path. Centrifugal force created within the first and second helical air paths causes fatty particles to separate from the airstream and stick inside the tube.

  • Patent number: 8828126
Abstract: A final scrubber in the inert carrier gas flow path of an elemental analyzer includes a manifold with valves for selectively bypassing a quick disconnect final scrubber housing that includes a filter tube and sealed gas fittings. The housing includes alignment members and a latch for positioning and locking the housing onto and in sealed engagement with the instrument's manifold. A switch detects the presence of the housing, and a control circuit controls valves to direct the inert gas flow though the filter tube or bypass the filter tube when the housing is removed. With this system, the final scrubber can be removed and replaced quickly without the use of tools while the carrier gas continues to flow though the furnace without interruption. Also, the valves can be closed to allow for segmented leak detection of the instruments gas flow path.
