  • Patent number: 8209441
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatic detection and signaling of an on-line status of a headset or other audio transmit/receive system used with telephony and/or other multimedia application software running on personal computers or other processor-based hosts are disclosed. The system generally includes a headset to communicate with the host executing the application software such as a softphone utilizing the headset via a port of the host, an on-line status detector in communication with the host via the port to detect the on-line status based on detecting a request for transmit data at the port and based on a signaling protocol associated with the port and independent of the application software, and an on-line indicator selectively activated by the on-line status detector. The request for transmit data may be detected by the opening or presence of a transmit channel opened by the host on the port.

  • Patent number: 8151022
Abstract: A method and apparatus compress projection data and store the compressed projection data in a rotatable part that is mounted for rotation within a stationary part. The data acquisition source, compressor and storage device are connected to the rotatable part. The compressor compresses projection data samples provided by the data acquisition source to form compressed packets. The compressed packets are stored in the storage device, for example one or more solid state drives mounted on the rotatable part. A data access array contains information related to the location of the stored compressed packets. Compressed packets are retrieved and transferred across the interface to the stationary part. A decompressor at the stationary part decompresses the received compressed packets to form decompressed samples of the corresponding projection data. This abstract does not limit the scope of the invention as described in the claims.

  • Patent number: 8086775
Abstract: A first free port present in a controller or a switch device is physically connected to a second free port present in a switch device (switch device in another storage device unit) other than the controller or switch device comprising the first free port. The possibility of logical connection via a physical path connecting the first free port and second free port is controlled.

  • Patent number: 8078775
Abstract: Described are memory modules that support dynamic point-to-point extensibility using fixed-width memory die. The memory modules include data-width translators that allow the modules to vary the effective width of their external memory interfaces without varying the width of the internal memory interfaces extending between the translators and associated fixed-width dies. The data-width translators use a data-mask signal to selectively prevent memory accesses to subsets of physical addresses. This data masking divides the physical address locations into two or more temporal subsets of the physical address locations, effectively increasing the number of uniquely addressable locations in a given module. Reading temporal addresses in write order can introduce undesirable read latency. Some embodiments reorder read data to reduce this latency.

  • Patent number: 8051219
Abstract: A highly-reliable storage system and data input/output control method, which can ensure priority data input/output performance, is provided. A performance limit, which is the number of data input/output processes per unit of time, is detected; and a processing percentage for each of one or more priority targets for which data input/output processing should be prioritized, and a group of one or more non-priority targets that includes of one or more other targets, which correspond to input/output processing request types, is determined based on the performance limit detected, and a targeted performance; and the storage apparatus executes data input/output processing for the one or more priority targets and the group of one or more non-priority targets at respective frequencies determined by the processing percentage determination unit.

  • Patent number: 8041854
Abstract: A computer system may comprise a second device operating as a producer that may steer data units to a first device operating as a consumer. A processing core of the first device may wake-up the second device after generating a first data unit. The second device may generate steering values after retrieving a first data unit directly from the cache of the first device. The second device may populate a flow table with a plurality of entries using the steering values. The second device may receive a packet over a network and store the packet directly into the cache of the first device using a first steering value. The second device may direct an interrupt signal to the processing core of the first device using a second steering value.

  • Patent number: 7272676
Abstract: A data transfer control device including: a buffer controller which allocates a plurality of pipe regions in a packet buffer and controls access to the packet buffer; and a transfer controller which controls data transfer between the pipe regions and corresponding endpoints. The transfer controller performs processing of pausing data transfer between the pipe regions and the endpoints, the buffer controller performs reconstruction processing which includes at least one of deletion, addition, and size change of the pipe regions after the completion of the pause processing, and then the transfer controller resumes the paused data transfer after the reconstruction processing of the pipe regions. Data in the pipe regions before the reconstruction processing is copied to the pipe regions after the reconstruction processing while preventing the data from being erased.

  • Patent number: 7200698
Abstract: A disk drive and method are disclosed for data transfer initiated by nonstandard disk-drive commands on a serial interface that only supports standard disk-drive commands. In the method, a nonstandard disk-drive command for data transfer is embedded within a first data block accessible using a first standard disk-drive command. The first standard disk-drive command is transmitted through the serial interface causing the first data block to be transferred from the host computer to the disk control system. The embedded command is extracted from the transferred first data block and provided to the disk control system. A status response is transmitted to the host computer based on the extracted command. At least one additional standard disk-drive command is transmitted through the serial interface to the disk control system for transferring the identified data between the host computer and the disk drive.
