Patent number: 4128168Abstract: A display carton for an elongated bottle which is substantially equal to the length of the carton, but is of smaller width than the carton, is provided with top and bottom retaining panel structures to prevent lateral movement of the bottle within the carton. Each retaining panel structure includes a first flap pivotally connected to the back panel of the carton, and having, in turn, a glue flap hingedly attached thereto. Hingedly connected to the opposite edges of the glue flap are two spaced tabs, with the combined length of the tabs and the glue flap being greater than the length of the first flap. By this arrangement, the first flap is disposed in abutting relationship to the end flap closure of the carton, and the glue flap is bonded to the first flap. The spaced tabs are wholly disposed within the carton and extend at an angle to the back panel so as to form with the first flap and the back panel a right triangle.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1977Date of Patent: December 5, 1978Assignee: Champion International CorporationInventor: Harry I. Patent number: 4124118Abstract: The disclosure concerns a protective package for a video disc of the type having a pair of finger holes in the label area. The package includes a base member having a well for removably receiving the video disc. A pair of rotational restraints are secured to the base member for effecting engagement with the finger holes during the containment of the video disc in the well, such engagement preventing rotational motion of the video disc relative to the base member. A cover member is secured to the base member for enclosing the video disc in the well. Pursuant to another embodiment of the present invention, the rotational restraints are removably secured to the base member, instead of being integral therewith in accordance with the first embodiment.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 1977Date of Patent: November 7, 1978Assignee: RCA CorporationInventor: James H. Patent number: 4121416Abstract: A simulated clock apparatus utilizes a housing having an opening therein and a shelf disposed in the housing below the opening. A conventional wristwatch is adapted to be rested on the shelf so as to have the face of the clock exposed for external viewing through the opening. A pendulum is pivotably secured to the shelf and is displayed visibly through a second opening located below the opening. The pendulum may be continuously oscillated back and forth in conventional "Grandfather Clock" fashion by a bar passing through a solenoid coil, such that the bar is urged into oscillatory motion, when contacting an electrical switch at an end thereof such that the switch is operated into a closed position causing a current flow from the battery, housed within the housing, to exert a pulling force on a ferromagnetic portion of the center of the bar.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1977Date of Patent: October 24, 1978Inventor: Chester Niemczyk
