  • Patent number: 12280481
Abstract: A slip-joint pliers having opposed parallel jaws with a specific cross-hatch pyramidal teeth construction develops a high torque grip slip force on a seized or overly tightened cylindrical workpiece such as a pipe or bar. The pliers includes a tongue in groove type slip-joint construction. The cross-hatch teeth are disposed at between 110° and 150°, and the rows of cross-hatch teeth are spaced at less than about 10 teeth/inch on each jaw face. The pliers are a compact yet heavy-duty use tool that develops a torque grip slip force greater than similarly sized prior art pliers.

  • Patent number: 12269147
Abstract: Disclosed is a latching mechanism for a high-torque tool that allows a top semicircular segment to be connected and disconnected from a bottom semicircular segment, which allows a hex jaw (reaction gear) to engage a fluid fitting static nut for application of high torques. A pivoted latch has a curved blade, which is mounted closer to the center point of the hex jaw (reaction gear) than the latch pivot pin of the pivoted latch so that all of the forces are absorbed by the curved blade rather than the latch pivot pin.

  • Patent number: 12257673
Abstract: A dual-beam torque wrench with a linear display and a linear locking member is provided. The torque wrench includes a head that couples to a socket to rotate a fastener or bolt. A housing of torque wrench extends from the head to form a handle. Within the housing forming the handle are two beams: a lever beam that transmits the force from the handle to the head and a deflecting beam that couples to the head and not the handle. The deflecting beam deflects away from the lever beam to indicate that a predetermined torque has been applied. A torque adjustment assembly moves the lever beam relative to the head to set the predetermined torque, and a pin follows the linear display to indicate to the user the set predetermined torque.

  • Patent number: 12257665
Abstract: During chemical mechanical polishing of a substrate, a signal value that depends on a thickness of a layer in a measurement spot on a substrate undergoing polishing is determined by a first in-situ monitoring system. An image of at least the measurement spot of the substrate is generated by a second in-situ imaging system. Machine vision processing, e.g., a convolutional neural network, is used to determine a characterizing value for the measurement spot based on the image. Then a measurement value is calculated based on both the characterizing value and the signal value.
