  • Patent number: 5950982
Abstract: A new FAUCET SAFETY STOP for preventing a user, especially a child, from turning a water faucet beyond a predetermined point. The inventive device includes a clip member having a pair of spaced apart arms, and a mid-portion connecting the arms together. The arms define a space therebetween adapted for receiving a portion of a base of a faucet between the arms. A stop tab is extended from the first edge of the clip member.

  • Patent number: 5947444
Abstract: The tap comprises an external operating element and a connecting stem for transmitting the movement of the operating element to the opening and closure member which is arranged in such a way as to be pressed against the sealing seat under the effect of the pressure of the gas. To make opening against the pressure of the gas easier, the connecting stem and/or the opening and closure member are designed in such a way that the opening of the tap comprises a first phase in which the opening and closure member pivots, followed by a movement of the axial translation.

  • Patent number: 5937891
Abstract: A valve flapper door return spring mechanism for an automotive HVAC housing is modified so as to compensate for tolerance variations, so that the door is held in a substantially rattle free return position regardless. One of a pair of resilient spring fingers sits in a V shaped notch created by the intersection of a pair of spring finger stop surfaces that are opposed in slope. The one spring finger can therefore continually seat itself into an equilibrium position at the bottom of the V, and always make solid contact.

  • Patent number: 5934312
Abstract: A drop chute spill guard contains spills in conjunction with a loading hose supplying fuel to an in-ground storage tank. The spill guard includes a flexible barrier sized to surround the sump, an absorption layer disposed covering the flexible barrier, and a sealing ring with a stiffener ring secured to the flexible barrier and having an outside diameter substantially corresponding to a diameter of the sump. An opening is disposed in the vicinity of the tank inlet and extends through the absorption layer, the flexible barrier, the sealing ring, and the stiffener ring for receiving the drop chute. The arrangement provides effective spill containment with a portable apparatus. The absorption layers are easily replaced in the event of contamination, and the sealing ring is provided with a stepped outside diameter to accommodate varying sump diameters.

  • Patent number: 5921270
Abstract: An automatic flushing system for municipal water systems. The system comprises flush piping connected to a municipal water system line, the flush piping having a solenoid valve mounted therein to permit periodic discharge of water from the municipal water system line. A programmable timer is provided to open and close the solenoid valve at predetermined times and for predetermined intervals. The system may be powered from a remote power source, or may be provided with a storage battery whose charge is maintained by a electricity generating solar panel.

  • Patent number: 5887850
Abstract: A unitary handle structure to be secured to the shaft of the valve and cooperate with the stops on the body to delimit and lock the valve element in its open and closed positions. The handle structure includes a socket portion fixed to the stem of the valve element and a handle portion extending from the socket portion and doubling back towards the socket portion and terminating at an end adjacent the socket portion. A detent portion on the end includes a pair of walls sufficiently spaced to receive the stops to lock the valve element in the open and closed positions. The handle portion is flexibly resilient to allow the detent portion to raise and lower with respect to the stops. One of the walls of the detent has a height high enough and the end of the handle portion is separated from the adjacent portion of the handle by a sufficiently short distance to prevent the one wall of the detent portion from raising above the stops.

  • Patent number: 5881762
Abstract: A walled enclosure assembly adapted to be installed around the base of a water-containing appliance and bonded to the support floor to contain leakage therefrom without disturbing the appliance. The walled assembly comprises a plurality of wall segments, each having base flange, an upright wall and wall ends, each adapted to be bonded to the end of an aligned wall segment to form a continuous walled enclosure assembly. The assembly is designed to surround the base of a water-containing appliance, with the undersurfaces of the base flanges being bonded to the supporting floor to contain any leakage from the appliance. Preferably an integral drain tube is incorporated, and/or an automatic alarm means is attached which is activatable to signal excessive leakage.

  • Patent number: 5868154
Abstract: A propane gas delivery system having a large storage tank, a supply conduit to deliver propane gas, a first regulator and a second regulator to reduce pressure, where a secondary containment tank is provided to receive and retain any liquid propane which enters the supply conduit, whether due to overfilling of the main tank or condensation within the supply conduit, and which allows the liquid propane to reconvert into the gas phase. A float valve is provided in the outflow conduit of the secondary tank to prevent flow of liquid propane from the secondary tank in the event the amount of liquid trapped by the secondary tank exceeds its retention capacity.
