Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into PHP5E through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby. Hybrid maize seed, plant or plant part produced by crossing the variety PHP5E or a locus conversion of PHP5E with another maize variety.
Abstract: A method is provided for altering distribution of a chosen characteristic of a plurality of memory cells forming a memory device. The method comprises identifying a subset of the memory cells whose value of the chosen characteristic is within a predetermined end region of the distribution, and then performing a burn-in process during which one or more operating parameters of the memory device are set to induce aging of the memory cells. During the burn-in process, for each memory cell in the subset, the value stored in that memory cell is fixed to a selected value which exposes that memory cell to a stress condition. In contrast, for each memory cell not in the subset, the value stored in that memory cell is alternated during the burn-in process in order to alleviate exposure of that memory cell to the stress condition. Such an approach allows a tightening of the distribution of the chosen characteristic, thus improving the worst case memory cells.
Abstract: A method of tagging video content includes receiving video content at a set-top box device via a private video distribution access network. The method also includes receiving a tag associated with the video content at the set-top box device and sending the tag to a tag management system via the private video distribution access network. Further, the method includes sending a request for content associated with the tag to the tag management system and receiving the video content at the set-top box device.

Abstract: A method for distributing a query, wherein the query comprises one or more sub-clauses, wherein each sub-clause comprises a triple pattern having three components for use with a distributed system, the method comprising the steps of: identifying each sub-clause; analyzing three components of each sub-clause in accordance with one or more analysis rules in order to determine the proportion of values to variables; in response to the determination, testing the sub-clause against one or more execution rules, wherein the execution rules are associated with an order of processing of a sub-clause based on the proportion of values to variables; in response to the testing, generating a sub-query associated with a first sub-clause having the largest proportion of values to variables.

Abstract: Methods for displaying a user's personal media content via an EPG that also displays third-party broadcast television channels. Personal media content associated with a user is retrieved from one or more networks, and aggregated by type of media. The personal content media is further sorted into groups of media content sharing a common attribute. A virtual media channel is created for each group of media, and is added to the EPG. Each virtual media channel is populated with the user's personal media content affiliated with the group.
Abstract: A photoelectric sensor and method for sensing a target at a predetermined location. The photoelectric sensor includes a light source that emits light, an output circuit including first and second photodetectors, and first and second receive lenses respectively positioned adjacent to the first and second photodetectors, respectively. If the target is at the predetermined location, then a first portion of the emitted light is received by the first photodetector after being reflected off of the target and passing through the first receive lens, and a second portion of the emitted light is received by the second photodetector after being reflected off of the target and passing through the second received lens. Further, the output circuit produces an output signal indicative of a sensed characteristic of the target based on signals generated by the first and the second photodetectors.

Abstract: A method for determining a failure rate of an electrochemical sensor type for a process, wherein the process is defined by determined values, or value intervals, of a plurality of specified process parameters, and wherein a plurality of defect types is specified for the sensor type, comprising steps as follows: assigning, by means of expert knowledge, a defect rate to each combination of one of the values, or value intervals, of the specified process parameters and one of the specified defect types; and calculating the failure rate of the sensor type according to a calculational specification with application of the defect rates assigned to the combinations of a value, or value interval, of a process parameter and a defect type.

Abstract: A custom tracking system can provide functionality for operators of content sites to specify types of content delivery data to be tracked in a content delivery network. The custom tracking system can propagate operator tracking preferences to edge nodes in the content delivery network, such as delivery servers, which can track delivery data according to the preferences. The custom tracking system can use one or more tracking filters to reduce the storage burden of certain tracking requests while still providing relevant results. The custom tracking system can output results of the custom tracking for presentation to the content site operator.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for controlling an electronic device including receiving a signal through a light sensor of the device, identifying with a processor of the device whether the received signal originated from a light emitter of the device, and controlling a function of the device, the function selected based on whether the signal is identified as originating from the light emitter of the device or the light emitter separate from the device.
Abstract: In a process for estimating the concentration (C) of a chemical element in the primary coolant of a nuclear reactor, a dilution solution or a concentrated solution of said chemical element in a predetermined concentration (C*) is injected into the primary coolant within the reactor, and the reactor includes a sensor capable of measuring a quantity (Cm) representing the concentration of said chemical element. The process is an iterative process in which repeatedly in each time step k: a stage of acquiring quantities (qdk) and (qck) representing the injected flows of dilution solution and concentrated solution in step k, and a quantity (Cmk) representing the concentration measured by the sensor; a stage of calculating an estimated value (Cek+1) of the concentration of said chemical element in the primary coolant in step k+1 on the basis of representative quantities (qdk, qck, Cmk) acquired in stage k.
Abstract: During installing a first computer software product, a computer system advertises a second computer software product other than the first computer software product and demonstrates a feature of the second computer software product. The feature is responsive to said installing but unnecessary to said installing.
Abstract: The present invention provides a structure for storing coreless roll paper R having a hollow portion in the axis portion instead of a winding core, wherein the structure includes an outer case 2 for storing roll paper R; and a lower holding member and an upper holding member 4 respectively having concave portions 31,41 each having an inside diameter that closely matches the outside diameter of the roll paper R, each of the lower holding member 3 and the upper holding member 4 having an external shape that fits the outer case 2, wherein the lower holding member 3 is disposed in the outer case 2 with the concave portion 31 facing upward, and the upper holding member 4 is disposed in the outer case 2 at the location above the lower holding member 3 with its concave portion 41 facing downward.

Abstract: Migration of a virtual machine from a source host to a destination host is controlled by referring to a graph data structure wherein one or more hosts are associated with at least some of the nodes of the graph data structure, a source node being associated with the source host and a destination node being associated with the destination host, and in which each link of the graph data structure is ascribed at least a permission value associated with the virtual machine, to determine if traversal of a path from the source node to the destination node is permitted by the permission values of the links in the path. Migration of said virtual machine is allowed if traversal from said source node to said destination node along the path is permitted.
