  • Patent number: 5892313
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a rotor for an electrical machine comprises a first pole piece and a second pole piece together defining an axis of rotation of the rotor, each pole piece comprising a generally disc-shaped body having a circumference. Each pole piece further has a plurality of angularly-spaced pole fingers extending axially from the circumference of the body of the pole piece. The rotor additionally includes a plurality of permanent magnets, each permanent magnet affixed to a body of a pole piece between two pole fingers of the pole piece.

  • Patent number: 5861686
Abstract: An integrated device, used for selectively generating waking vibrations or sounds in alarm watches or in communications equipment such as cellullar or pager phones, is disclosed. In the device, first and second vibration members are set in a ring case and respectively generate waking vibrations and waking sounds. The second vibration member is made of a synthetic resin film, with two inner terminals being connected to both ends of a coil. A lead panel integrally extends from the edge of the second vibration member, thus being exposed to the outside of the device. Two outer terminals are provided on the outside end of the lead panel and are connected to the inner terminals through copper wires, thus connecting the coil to a PCB. The second vibration member, originally used for generating waking sounds, is thus used as a circuit board for the coil.

  • Patent number: 5663604
Abstract: A brushless motor for use as a fan motor or the like has a housing, a bearing tower provided inside the housing, a stator fixed on a circumference of the bearing tower, a rotor having a shaft rotatably supported by a bearing inside the bearing tower, a rotor magnet provided on the rotor and opposed to the stator, and a circuit base on which a drive control circuit for controlling the rotation of the rotor by controlling a current supplied to the stator is formed. The housing is provided with a supporting plate for supporting the bearing tower. This supporting plate is recessed in an axial direction relative to a bottom surface of the housing, and supports the bearing tower so that the bearing tower projects inwardly from the supporting power in the axial direction. The circuit base is mounted on a surface of the supporting plate opposite from the bearing tower. If this structure is adopted, the overall size of the motor can be reduced while the desired mounting area of the circuit base is maintained.

  • Patent number: 5659211
Abstract: A motor vehicle screen wiper drive unit in the form of a motorised reduction gear unit has a body which is provided with a removable brush carrier plate, together with at least one electrical component connected to the brush carrier plate through a flexible electrical conductor, this component, or these components, being part of the power supply circuit for the drive unit. The brush carrier plate includes means for retaining the said component or components temporarily during fitting of the carrier plate in the body of the unit. The electrical component is arranged for sliding movement with respect to the carrier plate, into cooperation with retaining means formed in the body of the unit for retaining the component. A method of assembly of a brush carrier plate with at least one associated electrical component, in the body of such a drive unit, is also described.
