  • Patent number: 5806090
Abstract: A diving suit has an upper torso portion and a lower torso portion. The upper and lower torso portions are connected and one is layered and folded upon itself in the waistband area. A stretchable waistband is connected to the upper and lower torso portions about the circumference of the diving suit on the inside of the diving suit over the layered area and allows the upper torso portion to move relative to the lower torso portion while the user is entering the diving suit and during operation thereafter. A recess in the waistband area accommodates the bottom of the zipper which extends diagonally across the forward torso portion.

  • Patent number: 5802609
Abstract: A water-tight diving suit has the edges of the open extremities of the sleeves and the trousers of the suit and the neck provided with a hem which is folded inwards and secured, for example by stitching, to the inside edge of the suit, so as to form a tubular pocket. A tape-like stiffening element made of elastomeric material is housed inside this pocket. The suit can be made as a one-piece or two-piece suit. In the case of one-piece suits, which combine both jacket and trouser parts, these have, in the region of the access opening which can be closed by a zipper, an edge with a hem folded inwards and secured, for example by stitching, to the inside edge of the suit, so as to form a tubular pocket, inside which a tape-like element made of elastomeric material is housed. The suit may be further provided with a separate hood.

  • Patent number: 5802674
Abstract: A fiber metering device adapted for feeding fiber to a fiber utilizing assembly. The device comprises a first fiber feeding unit and a spaced apart second fiber feeding unit. The fiber feeding units are spaced apart so that the second unit is downstream with respect to the first unit. The feeding units are independently driven at relatively variable fiber feeding speeds. Each feeding unit includes a weight transducer means sensitive to the weight of fiber being fed by that unit. The speed of each feeding unit is controlled in accordance with the weight of fiber sensed by its associated transducer means.

  • Patent number: 5799374
Abstract: A spinning machine for the doubling or stretching of fiber bands with a rolling section having lower rolls which are secured in journal blocks, and wherein the upper rolls may be also secured on said journal blocks with pressure means for the loading of said upper rolls, it is proposed that the pivoting axis of the pressure arm for the placement of the pressure means to the upper rolls be arranged in such a way that, when observed in the running direction of the fiber band, said axis lies behind the rolling section. Advantageously, what is achieved thereby, is that the spinning machine can be maintained in a considerably simpler and quicker manner. Following the upward pivoting of the pressure arm, the entire area of the rolling section becomes freely accessible. The pivoting geometry of the pressure arm can be so varied, that the upper rolls can be easily restored into the guides on the journal blocks of the lower rolls.

  • Patent number: 5797256
Abstract: An apparatus for heating an advancing yarn is disclosed, which comprises an elongate heater body having a U-shaped channel accommodating a plurality of yarn guides. The yarn guides are configured and positioned such that the yarn advancing through the heating apparatus is deflected along a non-linear path of travel which includes several straight line segments which are closely adjacent and parallel to each of the side walls of the channel. The non-linear path effectively increases the yarn length in the heating apparatus, thereby facilitating high speed operation, and without unduly increasing the frictional resistance of the apparatus on the yarn.

  • Patent number: 5797171
Abstract: A waist belt with a first end having a hook, and a second end having an inner surface with a series of engagement wires. The hook engages one of the wires, and the second end of the belt overlaps the first end, covering and hiding the hook mechanism from the front view. This provides a smooth, fashionable appearance. A spring-loaded sliding lock on the first end of the belt blocks the hook entrance, retaining the engagement wire without reliance on constant belt tension. The hook, loops, and sliding lock are designed for minimal thickness.

  • Patent number: 5794266
Abstract: A glove made with thin latex or rubber material is suitable for carrying out medical or other delicate procedures while maintaining comfort by creating air pockets inside the glove. The inner layer of the glove has projections or granules so that the contact surface between the glove and the hand is reduced. The glove has a plurality of convexed projections formed on the inner surface so that the convexed projections are in contact with the hand and creates air pockets or buffers in the immediate vicinity of the convexed projections. The glove can be easily made by using a mold having concaved indents or spots and dipping the mold into a pool of liquid latex or rubber and then peeling the glove off of the mold. Each finger tip of the glove may be devoid of the convexed projections to enhance sensitivity.
