  • Patent number: 5048196
Abstract: A guided working device (1) is driven by an operable traction motor (2) for movement along a travel rail (3). The working device carries a driver (4) provided with articulated heads for a measuring carriage (5), which measuring carriage always travels the same distance as the working device (1). The measuring carriage travels on a control rail (11) and includes a measuring device (6). A plurality of sliding conductors (17) are also receivable by the control rail (11). The measuring carriage carries a preferably toothed measuring wheel about at least a circumferential portion of which a preferably toothed measuring belt is wrapped. The measuring wheel (7) is pressed, by guided wheels (8) in front of and behind the measuring wheel, against a toothed belt supporting surface which is associated with the control rail (11).

  • Patent number: 4977681
Abstract: A bore gauge having a fixed and an opposing automatically-adjustable contact anvil, each such anvil having an extended length in the direction of the axis of the bore being gauged, the gauge having a body about which is adjustably secured a reference plate which sets the depth at which the contact anvils make contact with the inner wall of the device the bore of which is being measured, the adjustable contact anvil being mechanically coupled to the dial-actuating rod of a dial indicator for reading the bore diameter.

  • Patent number: 4881324
Abstract: A gauging apparatus for making at least one displacement measurement comprises an elongated flexure member having a pair of spaced apart and substantially parallel body sections. Each body section has an extending portion for contacting a workpiece to be gauged and movable from one position to another corresponding to a displacement measurement. Spaced apart and substantially parallel top and bottom sections join the parallel body sections forming a unitary flexure member having a central opening. The flexure member includes a plurality of webs formed by a sufficiently thin section of material so as to form a hinge. Each of the parallel body sections include a pair of spaced webs for permitting the top and bottom sections to move in parallel motion. The bottom section includes an additional pair of webs for permitting movement of the respective extending portions toward and away from each other and a proportional movement of the bottom section in response to such movement of the respective extending portions.
