    Abstract: A process is disclosed for removing hydrogenation catalyst residues from hydrogenated conjugated diene polymers by contacting a hydrocarbon solution of said polymers with an aqueous dilute solution of an alpha-hydroxysulfonic acid, separating the aqueous phase from the hydrocarbon phase, removing the hydrocarbon solvent from the hydrocarbon phase, producing a solid polymer, and applying heat and/or vacuum to the solid polymer to remove the residual alpha-hydroxysulfonic acid.

    Abstract: A composition of polyvinylchloride containing the usual additives and a plate out preventing, chemically or physically acting drying agent. The drying agent is preferably an expanded and finely ground aluminiumsilicate, having a high oil absorption and water absorption and preferably low amounts of earth alkaline metals. The plate out preventing drying agent is incorporated in a normal additive composition in order to avoid handling of voluminous masses of drying agent. This incorporation is executed by mixing with a mixture of additives or during the chemical reaction for preparing the additive composition.

    Abstract: A safe, dry and free-flowing solid peroxide/unsubstituted or alkyl substituted benzoic acid composition is prepared by mixing the solid peroxide, such as diacyl peroxide, dialkyl peroxydicarbonate, dialkyl peroxide or alkylidene diperoxide, which melts above 30.degree. C., with solid benozic acid or an alkyl substituted benzoic acid, which melts above 40.degree. C. This solid peroxide composition is used as an initiator for the polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, such as styrene, and for curing of unsaturated polyester resins and diethylene glycol bis(allyl carbonate). This solid peroxide composition exhibits improved safety characteristics such as delayed ignition times when in contact with a flame and increased thermal stabilities compared to similar prior art peroxide formulations.
