  • Patent number: 10440976
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of preparing high-strength coated whole cottonseed for livestock feed, wherein the germination ability of whole cottonseed is removed using high-temperature and high-pressure steam, and the surface of whole cottonseed is coated with gelatinized starch with high viscosity, which is prepared by gelatinizing starch in a preparation process. According the method of the present invention, since the germination ability of whole cottonseed is removed, release of foreign genes into the domestic environment, which may occur when using whole cottonseed for livestock feed, may be fundamentally prevented, and thus the method of the present invention may contribute to protection of domestic plant genetic resources. In addition, the use of gelatinized starch with increased viscosity, which is prepared by gelatinizing starch in a preparation process, may dramatically increase the selection range of coating agents.

  • Patent number: 10440975
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a feed additive composition for reducing methane production generated in the ruminant stomach of ruminant animals. Specifically, the present disclosure relates to a feed additive composition for reducing methane production comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of alliin and berberine, more specifically to a feed additive composition for reducing methane production comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of diallyl disulfide (DADS), nitrate, and eucalyptus oil. The feed additive composition according to the present disclosure may be added to the feed without additional treatment, thereby reducing the amount of methane production in the ruminant stomach without negative effects on livestock productivity. Thus, the feed additive composition can be effectively used in the ruminant animal industry.

  • Patent number: 10383346
Abstract: A method of making a gel-type livestock feed includes initially forming a feed mixture by mixing feed nutrient components, water, alginate, and a calcium component insoluble in water or a sequestrate to inhibit the calcium component from reacting with the alginate. Once the feed mixture is formed, the calcium component is solubilized or the sequestrates affecting the reactivity between the alginate and the calcium component is removed such that a gel feed is formed that includes a gel matrix containing the feed nutrient components. The gel feed may then be fed to the livestock. In another aspect of the present invention, piglets are weaned by feeding the gel feed for at least seven days directly after weaning. The gel feed may also include protein derived from blood with or without egg protein.

  • Patent number: 10244776
Abstract: A granulated phosphate composition that provides sufficient nutritional value as well as enhanced bioavailability of organic phosphorous present in a main feed ingredient. The granulated phosphate composition includes a phosphate source, such as monocalcium phosphate, mono-dicalcium phosphate, or dicalcium phosphate, and one or more feed enzymes such as phytase. When the phosphate composition is compounded and pelleted with a main feed ingredient into a feed pellet, and consumed by a non-ruminant, the phytase component of the phosphate composition liberates otherwise unavailable phosphorous present in the main feed ingredient.
