  • Patent number: 7237361
Abstract: The invention presents the concept of a residential building which is constructed on the principle of staggered dwellings. The staggered dwellings each have a single-storey dwelling part (10, 23) and a two-storey dwelling part (11) with outdoor area. The living area (10 and 11) of the dwelling is open and allows individual living requirements to be realized with a variability which has not been known up until now. The division of space is not fixed by the static system. The type of accommodation presented can be realized in all types of urban construction such as blocks of flats, block-edge developments or high-rise buildings from two storeys upwards. The sizes of dwellings may be determined in accordance with the location and the target group. Combining the accommodation with service-related and commercial use is made possible in a completely new way using this principle.

  • Patent number: 7232103
Abstract: A load-bearing, pressurized-fluid column apparatus and method for supporting a load or mine ceiling with respect to a support surface or mine floor includes an elongated, flexible sleeve and bladder retain a substantially incompressible liquid. The sleeve and bladder have a collapsed and an expanded configuration. In the collapsed configuration, the sleeve and bladder are not filled, and have a first, shorter length. In the expanded configuration, the sleeve and bladder are filled with the liquid, and have a second, longer length sized to extend to and between the load and the support surface. A valve allows the liquid to be added and prevents escape of the liquid. A base can seal a lower end of the sleeve, and can be disposed on the support surface. A cap can seal an upper end of the sleeve, and can be capable of abutting the load.

  • Patent number: 7228667
Abstract: A door assembly having a structural inner frame that is secured between an interior sheath and an exterior sheath. The inner frame provides rigidity and strength to the door assembly and will not warp or otherwise lose its dimensional integrity regardless of the environment or usage. Both the interior and exterior sheaths add strength and durability once attached to and combined with the inner frame. The internal frame is formed from metal, wood, plastic, composite panels, polystyrene panels or other structural materials. In the preferred embodiment, the inner frame by itself is not structural, it relies on the interior sheath and exterior sheath for its combined strength. The components of the internal frame are secured together by fastening onto the interior sheath and exterior sheath. This allows the components, while structurally supporting one another, to utilize the interior and exterior sheaths to fasten the components to one another.

  • Patent number: 7127866
Abstract: A stabilized window structure and method for stabilizing a window structure having a window frame entirely or substantially entirely devoid of glass includes a patch removably secured over the window frame to cover the opening in its entirety and a body of unifying material disposed over and bonded to the patch to form a cohesive mass therewith. Alternatively, a pre-formed, polymeric foam panel is removably secured over the window frame to cover the entirety of the opening. A method of removing a shattered window pane involves using pre-existing cracks in the pane to define the formation of separately removable, disconnected cohesive masses. A method of removing shards from a track of a window structure involves removing the shards as part of a single cohesive mass, as pieces of a single cohesive mass or as separate, disconnected cohesive masses.
