    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a negative film accumulating apparatus for accumulating therein a plurality of negative films successively fed from a photographic printer or the like. The negative films fed from the previous process such as the photographic printer or the like are placed on a supporter employed in the negative film accumulating apparatus. The rear end of each of the negative films is pressed in the film thickness direction by a pressure block. Each of the negative films thus pressed is accumulated in a holder. The pressure block presses against the negative films each time the negative films are successively delivered. It is therefore possible to accumulate the rear ends of the negative films in the holder in a stack.

    Abstract: A paper conveying device for overrunning paper from a stop position and then, switching the paper back to stop the paper in a stop position. The driving of a paper conveying section for conveying paper is stopped at the time point where the rear end of the paper reaches the stop position. Thereafter, the amount of overrun of the paper is detected, so that the paper is switched back by the amount. Consequently, the amount of overrun and the amount of switchback of the paper are suppressed to the minimum amounts required. In addition, the stress applied to the paper is reduced, and the paper is set in a short time.

    Abstract: Apparatus for shingling a plurality of documents disposed in stacked relation so that the stack extends successively from a first end to a second end, and has at least one boundary defined by substantially coplanar marginal edges of the documents. The stack of documents is conveyed along a predetermined path during which one or more rotatable shingling members engage the coplanar marginal edges of the documents and impart velocity components of progressively increasing magnitude to the marginal edges in a manner to effect movement of the documents into a shingled array. In the preferred embodiments, the rotatable shingling member has a conical shingling surface traversed by the documents in tangential relation so that the velocity components imparted to the marginal edges of the documents lie in the planes of the documents and move them laterally in shingled relation to each other.

The paper discharging roller shafts each have at least one roller, the rollers being separated from each other for a given period of time and, in response to detect signals, the rollers disposed on the shafts then contact each other. Alternatively, a pair of paper discharging roller shafts, each shaft having both a drive roller fixed on one side thereof in an axial direction and a driven paper discharging roller rotatably mounted on the other side thereof such that the respective drive and driven rollers on each shaft press against each other.
