Abstract: A make-up brush comprises an injection moulded frusto-conical support having integral bristles with enlarged ends. The bristles in certain rows have hooked ends directed towards an extension of the support (to engage a handle) and the bristles in other rows have hooked ends directed away from the extension.The brush support is moulded using a segmented cavity die which has recesses defining the integral bristles.

Abstract: A color coordinator device for use in the selection of personal cosmetic colors and the like having predetermined relation to the skin and eye colors of the user. The device includes a shield member defining a pocket and having a generally radial viewing opening formed therein, and a color coordinator disc rotatable within the pocket and having quadrant shaped groupings of color samples thereon representing different shades or tones of primary skin colors which may be brought into view through the viewing opening. The color coordinator disc has arcuate bands of color sample segments representing colors compatible with the corresponding skin tone colors and exposed with the skin tone colors for suggested cosmetic purposes such as eye shadow, blush, hair tint, lips and nail polish. Arcuate segmental portions of the color coordinator disc are adapted for removal from the disc, and a light filter may be provided to overlie the exposed color samples.

Abstract: A cuticle pusher comprises(a) an elongated stem and a cuticle pusher blade at one end of the stem, the blade having an edge facing forwardly and downwardly, and the blade having a downwardly facing side,(b) the stem having, along its length away from the blade, an upwardly arching first section, and a substantially straight and longitudinally extending second section,(c) said first section having an upper side which is convex lengthwise of the stem, and substantially flat, laterally, said upper and under sides angled to conform to the end portions of the user's index and middle fingers, respectively, in both flexed and unflexed conditions of such fingers.

Abstract: A dental flossing tool which is constructed to utilize the conventionally available dental floss containing containers. The tool includes a support for the container. The tool also has an elongated member which is bifurcated at its outer end. Openings are formed within the legs of the bifurcated end. Dental floss is to be strung from the container along the surface of the elongated member through the openings resulting in the dental floss being tautly stretched across the legs. The free end of the dental floss is tightly wrapped around a protruding member which is integrally formed on the surface of the elongated member. The protruding member also includes a restrictor which restricts the pulling movement of the strand through the tool to facilitate tautly stretching of the dental floss across the gap.

Abstract: Disclosed are massaging tools and method for reducing accumulated subcutanaceous fat of the lower-eyelids and adjacent zygomatic skin areas. The skin massaging tool has at least one consecutive plurality of individually rotatable members for rollably traversing across the lower-eyelids and zygomatic skin areas and a manually wieldable handle portion for causing reciprocating rolling of the tool along the skin areas. A generally concave array of rotatable members ensures complete massaging of the lower-eyelids as the tool is reciprocated upwardly theretoward from the zygomatic area. The tool has the further capability to reciprocatably rollably traverse in the right-left directions along the same skin areas.

Abstract: A tanning wand for dispensing tanning oil and the like from a container is provided and consists of a housing having a pair of opposite extending end walls, a resilient roller rotatively mounted to the housing between the end walls, a tube having a threaded opening in bottom of the tube that mates with a threaded neck of the container, a T-shaped passage and a plurality of soft bristle brushes for directing the tanning oil through the housing onto the roller along an entire portion of a contact surface thereof, a stop cock for controlling the tanning oil flow through the T-shaped passage of the housing and a guard that snaps on the housing over the roller between the end walls.

Abstract: A clamp for being attached to a pin curl or the like. The clamp includes a pair of bowls, or the like, with a flat disc member mounted over the mouth of each bowl by way of a spring which urges the disc members outwardly of the bowl, and hinge structure for pivotally joining the bowls to one another and for normally urging the rims of each bowl substantially against one another whereby a pin curl is securely clamped between the disc members.

Abstract: An artificial fingernail is attachable to a natural fingernail having a forward edge, the artificial nail comprising:(a) a thin plastic sheet element sized to provide a forward extension of the natural nail,(b) the said element having a rearward portion with its underside shaped to fit over and attach to the natural nail by means of liquid adhesive, the element rearward portion also having an upper side,(c) that rearward portion having at least one opening between its under and upper sides to receive liquid adhesive when the underside is pressed downwardly upon the natural nail, whereby the liquid adhesive when cured substantially fills the opening or openings and locks the natural nail to the wall or walls of the opening or openings.

Abstract: A hair treating device includes a pliable liquid impermeable sheet adapted to be placed in underlying relation to selected strands of hair during application of a hair treating substance to the selected strands and is of sufficient lateral width to extend laterally outwardly from opposite sides of the selected strands. In one embodiment, the pliable sheet is of sufficient length to enable it to be folded upon itself and substantially overlie the selected hair strands. The pliable sheet has discrete domains of alternating magnetic polarity defined therein operative to releasably maintain the folded layers in juxtaposed relation through magnetic attraction therebetween and establish a liquid seal about substantially the full periphery of the treated hair strands.

Abstract: A method for attaching an artificial fingernail or toenail to the tip of a natural fingernail or toenail, comprising a plurality of steps whereby the artificial nail is secured to the tip of the natural nail with an adhesive material comprised of ethyl alpha cyanoacrylate and a rayon fiber material is secured to the exposed surfaces of the attached natural and artificial nails. The method further includes a plurality of shaping and smoothing steps, whereby the artificial nail is trimmed to the desired shape and length and the exposed surfaces of the natural and artificial nails are filed and buffed until smooth. The result of the method of the present invention is a strong, natural-looking nail which is porous enough to allow the nail to "breathe" and is resistant to breaking and cracking.

Abstract: A deodorant case of the propel-repel type has a propel-repel assembly, which is received in one end of the casing body. The assembly includes a carrier, a base, and a threaded rod assembly which may be pre-assembled as a unit and inserted in the casing prior to filling. The casing is filled from the bottom through aligned openings in the base and carrier, and through an opening in a knurled disc of the threaded rod assembly which may be aligned for filling. After filling, a plug is snapped on over the opening in the knurled disc. In an alternative embodiment, the propel-repel assembly has no filling holes, but is pre-assembled as a unit and snapped into the casing after filling. In both embodiments, vent holes may be formed in the carrier, base, and disc. The invention may also be applied to containers which have manually propelled carriers.

Abstract: A cap is removably secured to the upper end of a vertical hollow cylinder. The cylinder has an internal thread. A cylindrical member having a threaded outer surface is disposed inside the cylinder with the inner thread engaging the outer thread. A solid cylinder of disposable applicator material is disposed in the hollow cylinder between cap and member. A cover is rotatably secured to the lower end of the hollow cylinder and has a vertical extension extending through a central bore in the member into the solid cylinder.

Abstract: An oral hygiene instrument has a handle having a brush on one end and a suction hose connector on the other end. An internal bore begins at an opening in the center of the brush and extends through the handle to the suction hose connector. A suction system of the type found in most hospitals may be connected to the connector in order to evacuate any moisture or debris adjacent the opening.

Abstract: A cleaning device specifically designed for use in the cleaning of combs or similarly shaped tools or devices wherein the comb being cleaned is repeatedly moved into engagement with cleaning brushes movably mounted on a housing in direct receiving position to soap or like cleaning fluid selectively issuing from a compartment formed on the interior of the housing itself.

Abstract: An elongated arched support member is provided including an elevated midportion an oppositely downwardly and endwise outwardly directed inclined end portions. A section of dental floss is provided and the lower ends of the end portions include structure which anchor opposite end portions of the section of dental floss relative thereto with said dental floss section in a tensioned state. The inner surfaces of the elongated member may engage and ride over the inner and outer side upper portions of adjacent teeth between which the section of floss is received as the arched member is oscillated lengthwise back and forth transversely of the associated gum ridge. The spacing between corresponding midportions of the floss support member and the floss section is at least generally equal to the vertical spacing between the crown surface of a tooth and the associated gum tissue.

Abstract: An elongated handle is provided having first and second ends and front and rear opposite longitudinal sides. Brush bristles are supported from and project outwardly from the front side of one of the ends and the other handle end includes a smooth endwise outwardly opening longitudinal bore formed therein. A piston is slidable in the bore and an operator is connected to the piston and rotatable on the other handle end. Rotation of the operator relative to the handle effects longitudinal displacement of the piston in the bore and the handle includes a supply passage therein communicated at one end with the inner end of the bore and opening outwardly through the front side of the handle between adjacent bristles at the other end. The bore equipped end of the handle is of greater cross-sectional area than the bristle equipped end and the front side of the handle includes a delineation zone thereof angulated relative to the longitudinal center axis of the handle between the opposite handle ends.

Abstract: A dispenser for flowable material having a squeezable container formed with filling and discharge openings at opposite ends, a combination handle and closure member connectable to the filling opening, and a flexible discharge spout and second closure member being connectable selectively to the discharge opening of said container, the connections all having snap-acting co-engaging members and the discharge spout being elongated and flexible and of uniform very small diameter to control discharge of precise amounts of material directed to desired locations of use by an operator holding the dispenser pen-like in one hand.

Abstract: A scrub sponge comprising, a packet having a rupturable wall and a closed chamber containing a liquid scrub agent, and a cover of foam material having a cavity to receive the packet and enclosing the packet. The sponge has a puncture member intermediate the cover and the packet and having a pair of generally aligned and spaced arms on opposed sides of the packet beneath the cover, and hinge means connecting the arms adjacent one end of the packet. The puncture member has at least one sharp projection on one of the arms directed toward the packet to pierce the wall when the arms are pressed toward each other to release the scrub agent into the cover, and an opening extending through the one arm adjacent the projection.

Abstract: A liquid dispensing bottle for containing liquids having a cap thereon for sealing the contents of the bottle. An applicator is carried on the cap extending into contact with liquids at the bottom of the bottle when the cap is sealed to the bottle. When the cap is unsealed from the bottle, the applicator, carried by the cap, is now above the liquid contents at the bottom of the bottle. The applicator is reciprocal in the cap and movable axially therealong to engage any liquids at the bottom of the bottle without the need for either tilting the bottle or re-sealing the cap back onto the bottle.
