  • Patent number: 9851853
Abstract: A low power can for device wake up and unlock is disclosed. The low power scan can include one or more algorithms used to detect a sequence and/or one or more gestures to wake up a processor and unlock the device. A sequence and/or one or more gestures can be determined by a microcontroller and/or by a separate hardware component. The microcontroller can send a notification to the processor and/or switch the device from an idle to an active state. By detecting the sequence and gestures in the microcontroller before waking up the processor, the battery life can be extended. In some examples, the microcontroller can determine if the sequence and gestures are due to water splashes, water film, and/or noise. In such examples, the microcontroller can reject the touch without waking up the processor, and further extending the battery life of the device.

  • Patent number: 9846496
Abstract: The described technology is directed towards virtual input devices that take application program-directed input from automation and/or remote devices, such as over a network, instead of via actual user input via a physical device, for example. This allows an automation framework to insert input into an application program, such as for automated testing without modifying any of the application's other components. The virtual input devices may be object instances or the like that receive their input from function calls based upon the type of input and output events, e.g., to simulate keyboard input/output (I/O), mouse or other pointer I/O, voice, gesture, and other command I/O, and so forth.
