Abstract: An illuminated sign assembly is provided, of the type that includes illuminated alphanumeric characters lying on a dark background, wherein the characters and/or color can be readily changed at low cost. The sign includes a thick rigid structural plate (26, FIG. 3) of colorless translucent material which can be readily placed in a lightbox that shines light through the plate. A thin color sheet (30) which passes light of a selected color, lies on the front face of the translucent plate, and an opaque character sheet (34) which has apertures (20) defining alphanumeric characters, lies on the front face of the color sheet. The color and character sheets are each thin, so new color and character sheets can be provided at low cost for mounting on the plate. The color and character sheets each have a layer of water-soluble adhesive so a water spray (62, FIG. 11) can be applied to greatly reduce the adhesive viscosity to enable squeegeeing (at Z) of each sheet to remove air bubbles.

Abstract: The present invention is an office chair capable of dynamically tilting to provide a desired seat inclination from an upright position to a maximum tilted position. The preloading mechanism of the spring includes an adjusting screw and a tension arm which provides leverage. The leverage of the preloading mechanism facilitates turning the adjusting screw to vary the preloaded tension of the springs. Also, a spindle cover is provided to stop movement of the seat at the maximum tilted position, and to stop movement of a toggle mechanism at the upright position.

Abstract: A frame sheet (24) provides a frame which surrounds and supports a photograph (22). The frame sheet (24) includes a border section (40) with a center section (48) which is surrounded by the border section (40). The center section (48) is removable from the border section such that an adhesive (46) is exposed on a back surface (36) of the border section (40) for holding a margin (30) of the photograph (22). The border section (40) surrounds and supports the photograph (22) while the removable center section (48) can be secured on the rear surface (28) of the photograph (22) for providing additional support for the photograph (22).

Abstract: A sign system for conveying merchandise identifying and pricing information. A frame is provided having viewing regions for supporting and displaying information. Contained within at least one of the viewing regions are alphameric or numeric symbols which are contained on longitudinally extending strips of polymeric material which are characterized as comprising score portion of two or more substantially parallel extending cuts which pass through a substantial but not total thickness of the strip. Alphameric or numeric symbols which are not to be viewed are hidden behind those which are to be viewed by folding the vertically extending strip along the score portion.

Abstract: An automotive seat having a seat cushion latching device is disclosed, in which the changing of the seat cushion from an operative latched position to a folded latched position or vice verse is achieved by manipulating only one operation lever.

Abstract: A child's car seat comprising a rigid frame having back, bottom, and side portions and a buckle located therein; strap means extending from the back over the shoulders of a child occupant of the seat; and a T-shield secured to the lower ends of the straps. Also included is a latch plate, the latch plate having an upper portion with an opening adapted to receive the straps and a lower portion with a locking aperture to be releasably secured in the buckle, the upper portion of the latch plate being of a first rigidity and being encompassed and secured within the T-shield and the lower portion of the latch plate being heat treated to render it more rigid than the upper portion.

Abstract: A panel fence is provided with a net having a mesh surface, and meshes are distributed on the whole area of the net surface. These meshes are in the shape of a rectangle and the size is equal. A panel piece is removably and selectively mounted on the mesh and blockades the mesh. The panel pieces mounted on the meshes express pictures, letters or patterns on the net.

Abstract: A cavity is formed in the floor of a building for receiving the floor type advertising apparatus. A magnetic layer is located and secured in the lower portion of the cavity. A metal layer having an opening formed therethrough is attached to the lower side of a transparent layer and both the transparent layer and the metal layer are located in the cavity to allow the magnetic lines of force from the magnetic layer to removably secure the transparent layer and the metal layer in the cavity. In one embodiment, the lower holding layer has an opening formed therethrough in which is located an advertising layer which can be seen from above through the opening and through the transparent layer. In another embodiment, the metal layer and the magnetic layer may be reversed in positions.

Abstract: A picture frame assembly comprising a folder having two rectangular flanges on two symmetrical face panels thereof to hold two picture-frames respectively, wherein the rectangular flanges each comprises at least one L-shaped notch on a peripheral side edge thereof, and a magnet on a top cross wall thereof for holding either picture-frame; the picture-frames each comprises at least one tenon on a peripheral edge thereof respectively inserted in the at least one L-shaped notch on either rectangular frame, and an iron plate on a back surface adjacent to a top edge thereof attracted by the magnet.

Abstract: An infant support and restraint system (10) includes a base platform (14) adapted to be mounted on a base surface (16). A first planar member (28) is rotatably adjustable with respect to the base platform (14) through an adjustable support mechanism (26). A second planar member (30) and a third planar member (32) are similarly angularly adjustable with respect to the base platform (14) to allow an infant (12) to be positioned in a physiological position on the infant support and restraint system (10). A first and second pad member (78 and 82) is releasably secured to the first planar member (28) and the second and third planar members (30 and 32). Pad members (78 and 82) may be removed subsequent to a surgical procedure for cleaning or storage purposes. A head support member (88) is releasably secured to the combination of the first planar member (28) and the first pad member (78).

Abstract: A parting surface structure of a bulletin device for indication or decoration in station yards, underground passages, buildings, exhibitions, etc. has an adjustable construction. A fitting slot is formed in the inner peripheral edge of a parting surface body which constitutes the front face of a device frame, and a second parting surface portion having a desired parting surface width is fitted in the said fitting slot. According to this construction, part of the parting portion can be replaced with a parting surface portion having a desired parting surface width according to a bulletin to be used in a manufacturing factory or at a site where the bulletin device is mounted. Thus, it is possible to make adjustment freely to a parting surface width suitable for a bulletin to be used.

Abstract: A display unit simulating a flying object and having an electric motor mounted on a support structure, a rotatably driven member drivingly engaged on the driven shaft of the motor, the driven member has a hole located adjacent its periphery, a thin, tempered wire of a small diameter is attached at one end to the driven member and the flying object is attached to the other end of the wire. One end of the wire is formed as a crank portion which is inserted loosely in the hole in the member whereby when the driven member is rotated, the wire is not bodily rotated around the member but is more slowly swung around, and the object assumes a flying fluttering motion due to the vibrations through the wire from the motor. The object is drivingly rotated in a swinging and erratic motion around the unit but at much slower rate of rotation than the motor shaft and member.

Abstract: A gardening stool that can also be used on hard surfaces. The stool includes a seat, an upright column and a rounded base. The rounded base allows the stool to be rocked. Spheres are provided along the outer periphery of the base which prevent the stool from being rocked on a hard surface, thus providing stability but still allow the stool to be rocked in the soft soil of a garden. A tool holder can be mounted on the column to hold gardening tools. A series of holes may be provided in the column to support the tool holder by means of pins.

Abstract: A combination device is operable in a table position and a rocker toy position. The device includes a pair of spaced end members each defining a base edge terminating in a pair of end portions, the base edge supporting the device in its table position. A substantially curved edge portion interconnects the end portions of the base edge to form end corner portions, the curved edge portion supporting the device when in its rocker toy position. A platform having top and bottom surfaces extends between the end members. The top surface of the platform is accessible as a table top when the device is in its table position, and the platform's bottom surface is accessible as a foot rest when the device is in its rocker toy position. Finally, a pair of seat members extend between the end members proximate the end corner positions.

Abstract: This invention relates to an innovative design of a crystal ball having a swinging doll with color changeable eyes. The crystal ball includes a glass ball mounted on a base and a rotating drive mechanism. The rotating drive mechanism includes a reciprocating gear mechanism that is connected to a swinging plate located beneath the crystal ball in the base. The doll, fixed to the reciprocating swinging plate, will also have a continuous rocking motion. The color of the eyes of the doll changes as a result of such motion, thereby giving more fun to the invention.
