Abstract: A resource dependency system dynamically determines and generates for display a minimized and collapsed resource dependency toolbar using two or more indicators to display a summarized view of dependency relationships to one or more selected items. For example, the system can analyze a resource dependency graph and determine root items, or items that do not depend on other items but are depended on by a selected item. The system can also determine leaf items, which no other items depend on. The system can also determine intermediary items that depend on root items and/or leaf items. The method may include generating a user interface for displaying, at a client, a first operator node and a second operator node. The first operator node and the second operator node may each correspond to a data processing operation. In response to one or more inputs received from the client via the user interface, the first operator node and/or the second operator node may be added to a graph displayed in the user interface. The graph may be representative of a data processing pipeline. The first operator node and the second operator node may further be interconnected with an directed edge. Abstract: Selected data is temporarily formatted and charted to assist a user in visualizing the selected data without the user having to manually create the display of the charted data. Once the temporary formatting and charting is automatically applied to the selected data, a user may interact with the visual formatting and charts to gain additional information. For example, the chart may be formatted differently, reference lines may be added, the chart may be sorted, the type of chart(s) displayed may be changed, the user may graphically navigate over the chart to obtain more detailed information, and the like. Abstract: A method and system for managing and organizing objects in a virtual workspace is disclosed. The method and system display a plurality of objects and containers on the virtual workspace. The objects and containers are assigned to corresponding layers. The method and system receive user input for changing the corresponding layer of one or more of the objects and containers, recursively fit test each of the layers for an overlap between the one or more of the objects and containers and each container assigned to each layer based on the user input, incorporate the one or more objects and containers into a target container assigned to a target layer when the overlap exceeds a predetermined threshold, and assigns the one or more of the objects and containers to a background layer when the overlap fails to exceed the predetermined threshold in the fit testing.
