Abstract: In an embodiment, a document error handling method is disclosed. The document error handling method may include or comprise accessing an electronic document that includes or comprises a plurality of data fields, identifying a plurality of errors associated with the electronic document, and accessing a data field from among the plurality of data fields, wherein the data field corresponds to a selected error from among the plurality of errors. The document error handling method may also include or comprise editing the data field in response to an error editing input to thereby enable an elimination of the selected error.

Abstract: Provided is a knowledge extracting apparatus for extracting knowledge information related to a knowledge-extraction target from an electronic document distributed continually in a state where the electronic document is not associated with the knowledge-information extraction target. A knowledge extracting apparatus according to one embodiment is a knowledge extracting apparatus including: an information receiving section for receiving an electronic document; a knowledge extracting section for extracting a concept from the electronic document based on a target word to extract knowledge information and a clue word to extract knowledge information and forming knowledge information in which the concept thus extracted and the target word are associated with each other; a storage section for storing the knowledge information thus extracted; and an information analysis section for, after the knowledge information is stored, analyzing the electronic document based on the knowledge information in the storage section.

Abstract: Historical form input field usage information of a group of input fields associated with a graphical user interface (GUI) form is analyzed. A subset of the group of input fields with higher usage characteristics relative to another subset of the group of input fields is automatically partitioned into a new form within a new tabbed portion of the displayed GUI form. The new form includes a set of selectable options that allow a user to select between reorganizing the subset of the input fields according to historical input field usage analysis of the user and reorganizing the subset of the plurality of input fields according to historical input field usage analysis of a group of form users within which the user is a member. The subset of the input fields within the new form is reorganized responsive to different user selections among the set of selectable options.

Abstract: A system and method for combining data from multiple reports into a single spreadsheet. The system and method include downloading at least two reports to a computing device and opening the at least two reports using the computing device. The system and method further include creating unique identifiers for each report and merging the at least two reports by mapping and combining relevant data into the single spreadsheet such that each line item in the spreadsheet includes the relevant data from the at least two reports.

Abstract: A system and method allows users to provide portions of scripts or scripts for retrieval of information from one or more web sites of one or more businesses by demonstrating operation of the one or more web sites and identifying locations of one or more fields on each web page of the one or more web sites, and the system and method stores the scripts and uses the scripts to retrieve information from such web site or web sites for any number of users. Different portions of different scripts may be used as a single script to retrieve information from a single web site. Scripts or portions of scripts may be repaired using information from previously working scripts or portions, the web site when the script or portion worked, and the web site when the script or portion did not work.

Abstract: A system implementable on a computing device having a processor and a memory, including a visual design system to generate a single visual data structure based on a hierarchy of components; a database to store at least one visual data structure and an associated signature where the signature represents at least a semantic composition of the at least one visual data structure; a signature comparer to match a signature of the single visual data structure to an associated signature of at least one visual data structure stored in the database and to present multiple versions of alternate visual data structures for the hierarchy of components for selection by a user; and where the alternate visual data structures are visually different and semantically similar to each other.

Abstract: A method and system for displaying a dynamic mosaic of media files, the method comprising: receiving media files, determining a fill direction, constructing a layout, determining an edge set from the media files previously placed on the layout, determining a trailing edge, and adjacent edges, constructing a set of closed rectangles an open rectangle from the trailing edge and adjacent edges, providing a first set of frames by iteratively attempting to fill up to one closed rectangle from the set of closed rectangles, providing a second set of frames by filling the open rectangle by placing one searched media file in the open rectangle if no closed rectangle in the set of closed rectangles can be filled, and inserting one of the first set of frames and the second set of frames into a current layout before updating a current edge set based on the inserted frames.

Abstract: A content validation module receives an electronic media item in a first format. The content validation module may determine whether the electronic media item will contain errors when the electronic media item is converted to a second format. The content validation module may also obtain an error metric for the electronic media item and may refrain from converting the electronic media item to the second format if the error metric exceeds an error threshold.

Abstract: In a method for customization of contextual information during a web conference presentation, a computer system executes a presentation program during a conference presentation. The computer system receives a request to access presentation templates based on parameters of a presenter, wherein the presentation templates including parameters identifying one or more of template texture, template font, template name of the presenter or template photo of the presenter of the conference presentation. In addition, the computer system determines an identity of the presenter during the conference presentation and matching the identity of the presenter against the parameter of the presenter. Moreover, the computer system extracts the presentation templates in the repository based on the match. The computer system further applies the extracted presentation template to presentation contents of the presentation program.

Abstract: A regular language for XML, next generation (RNG) file referencing an RNG schema file is obtained. Subsequently, the referenced RNG schema file is stored in a file directory structure matching a reference definition of the schema in the RNG file. Based on the RNG file, a first nonextensible schema and a first extensible schema are generated each corresponding to the referenced RNG schema file. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for replicating the appearance of typographical attributes and text adornments in digital publications. Content in a fixed layout format is converted into a standard digital publication format by applying a <span> tag to each word of the content. Each <span> tag includes a CSS letter spacing attribute that is calculated based on the effective width of each glyph forming the word in the fixed layout format, and the default width of the same glyph in the digital publication format. In this manner, the corresponding word is rendered in approximately the same space in both the fixed layout and digital publication formats.

Abstract: A method and system for verifying content of a resource. A first computer creates, in a markup language document, a markup element including a resource indicator and a first characteristic of the content of the resource stored at a second computer. The first characteristic includes a hash of the content of the resource referenced by the resource indicator. The first characteristic is extracted from the markup element in the markup language document. The resource is retrieved from the second computer according to a resource indicator that references the resource. A second characteristic of the content of the retrieved resource is generated. The second characteristic includes a hash of the content of the retrieved resource. The second characteristic is ascertained to be identical to the first characteristic. The created markup element includes a first attribute-value pair and a second attribute-value pair within distinct non-overlapping portions of the markup element.

Abstract: Implementations include a batch-optimized render and fetch architecture. An example method performed by the architecture includes receiving a request from a batch process to render a web page and initializing a virtual clock and a task list for rendering the web page. The virtual clock stands still when a request for an embedded item is outstanding and when a task is ready to run. The method may also include generating a rendering result for the web page when the virtual clock matches a run time for a stop task in the task list, and providing the rendering result to the batch process. Another example method includes receiving a request from a batch process to render a web page, identifying an embedded item in the web page, and determining, based on a rewrite rule, that the embedded item has content that is duplicative of content for a previously fetched embedded item.

Abstract: Disclosed is software which enables a service which allows users to load screen-shots of webpages to boards as clipped content, which preserves “live” links to the webpages from the clipped content, which identifies the content which was clipped, and which preserves links and other dynamic content in the clipped content.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for generating descriptive text for images. In one aspect, a method includes identifying a set of seed descriptors for an image in a document that is hosted on a website. For each seed descriptor, structure information is generated that specifies a structure of the document with respect to the image and the seed descriptor. One or more templates are generated for each seed descriptor using the structure information for the seed descriptor. Each template can include image location information, document structure information, image feature information, and a generative rule that generates descriptive text for other images in other documents. Descriptive text for other images is generated using the templates and the other documents. The descriptive text is associated with the images.

Abstract: A system can stream content items and ad items to a user interface of a client-side application (such as a web browser) without refreshing the user interface and by requesting such items from a local cache and/or a remote cache associated with the client-side application or the user interface. The remote cache can operate much like a local cache for the client-side application or the user interface. Items can be streamed to a user interface without refreshing the user interface and by requesting such items from a remote cache dedicated to caching the items that can be presented by the user interface. Because the tracking of such items and the tracking of the interactions with such items creates such large amounts of data, communicating the tracked data may be impracticable without use of a system that can effectively compress associated instrumentation data.

Abstract: A document file is displayed on a display device. A first display unit, which is a unit in which the document file is displayed, is divided into a plurality of areas. From the plurality of areas obtained by dividing the first display unit, a first target area viewed by a viewer is identified. In response to the first target area being displayed on the display device shifting from the first display unit to a second display unit, a decision is made whether to use setting information from the display area when the first target area identified by the identification means is displayed, based on a structure of the first display unit and a structure of the second display unit.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an information processing apparatus including: a native processing section adapted to perform processing based on a program stored therein so as to generate a native image as a processing result; a web processing section adapted to generate a web image based on data requested to a server; and a display image generation section adapted to generate a display image and output the display image to a display device, the display image including an element image making up at least part of the native image and an element image making up at least part of the web image, in which the native processing section and the web processing section move the element images in the same direction when the target to be operated by a user is switched between the native image and the web image to change the configuration of the display image.

Abstract: Data from applications is published using a web feed document such as according to the Really Simple Syndication (RSS) protocol. The applications can be information technology (IT) services, such as an Application Performance Management program and a Service Desk program, which are used by an organization. The data is received at an Application Programming Interface (API) and stored in a database in a format which is usable by the web feed document. For example, the data can provide a parameter name, parameter label, severity and user type which are associated with placeholder elements in the web feed document. The user type may be used to restrict the publishing of certain parameters to certain users based on their business roles in an organization. The feed server may provide additional details in response to the user selecting a hyperlink in the web feed document.
