  • Patent number: 10290135
Abstract: An image processing method in which a feature amount is analyzed for each of a plurality of images as layout target candidates. First and second image evaluations are performed for an image of the plurality of images, in accordance with first and second (different) evaluation criteria. A main image to be laid out on a main slot in a template is selected from the plurality of images based on the first image evaluation for each of the plurality of images. A sub image is selected to be laid out on a sub slot in the template, which is smaller than the main slot, based on the second image evaluation for each of the plurality of images. The main image is laid out on the main slot in the template, and the sub image is laid out on the sub slot in the template.

  • Patent number: 10169858
Abstract: A system, device, and method for inspecting the cosmetic and operational features of electronic devices, including computing and telecommunications devices. The cosmetic inspection system includes an image capture unit for capturing the images of the electronic devices, and a user interface for processing the captured images and providing relevant information to the user of the system. Images of the external components such as external casing materials or touch screens of electronic devices are captured and the cosmetic inspection system uses baseline images to make determinations to identify defective components of the electronic devices. Based on these determinations, the system may conclude which, if any, replacement components of the devices are needed to restore the electronic device. In one embodiment, a user of the system may then be provided with information through a user interface about defective components and options for ordering replacement components.

  • Patent number: 10025773
Abstract: A method for performing natural language processing includes receiving a primary text file. The received primary text file is scanned to determine a set of statistics related to a frequency at which various words of the primary text file follow other words of the primary text file. A probabilistic word generator is created based on the determined set of statistics. The probabilistic word generator generates synthetic text exhibiting the determined set of statistics. Synthetic text exhibiting the determined set of statistics is generated using the created probabilistic word generator. Word vectorization is performed on the synthetic text. Results of the performed vectorization are used to perform machine learning tasks.

  • Patent number: 10026403
Abstract: Systems and methods for associating audio signals in an environment surrounding a voice-controlled system include receiving by a voice-controlled system through a microphone, an audio signal from a user of a plurality of users within an environment surrounding the microphone. The voice-controlled system determines a source location of the audio signal. The voice-controlled system determines a first user location of a first user and a second user location of a second user. The voice-controlled system then determines that the first user location correlates with the source location such that the source location and the first user location are within a predetermined distance of each other. In response, the voice-controlled system performs at least one security action associated with the first user providing the audio signal.
