Abstract: A high pressure fuel pump unit includes a pump head where an inlet channel opens into a low-pressure chamber itself in fluid communication with a compression chamber. A valve is arranged so that when it is closed the fuel fills the low-pressure chamber and when the valve opens the fuel flows from the low-pressure chamber into the compression chamber. The pump head also includes a resilient member arranged so that when the valve is closed, the resilient member deforms to increase the volume of the low pressure chamber. When the valve opens, the fuel flows into the compression chamber, pushed by the resilient member which takes back its original shape.

  • Patent number: 10208753
Abstract: The speed of a cooling fan of a scroll pump is controlled such that fan-generated noise can be kept low. The scroll pump includes a pump head, a pump motor, the fan, a controller and one or more sensors. The pump head includes a plate scroll set in which a tip seal is provided to create a seal between the blade and the opposing plates of the plate scrolls of the set. The speed of the fan is cycled by the controller, and the power draw on the pump motor as a result is checked. These results are used to infer the state of the pump, i.e., to discriminate several different states of the pump from one another, including a state in which a new tip seal is being worn in, and to control the speed of the fan accordingly.

  • Patent number: 10174758
Abstract: Pump units are known that have a drive shaft and a rotor, which is driven by the drive shaft and is arranged rotatably in a housing, the drive shaft having an oblique sliding plane, which interacts with the rotor and allows the rotor to nutate with the rotor axis thereof about a drive axis of the drive shaft, the rotor having a set of teeth on the end face of the rotor facing away from the drive shaft, said teeth meshing with a set of teeth formed on a housing of the pump unit, working spaces being formed between the teeth of the rotor and the teeth of the housing, which working spaces can be filled via an inlet and emptied via an outlet. It is disadvantageous that the pump unit has a comparatively large axial installation length, because the drive of the pump unit is arranged on an end of the drive shaft facing away from the rotor. In the pump unit according to the invention, the axial installation length is shortened.
