  • Patent number: 8914305
Abstract: Embodiments for motion based target prediction and interaction are described herein. One example embodiment includes predicting a target element based on a user moving a cursor in relation to a trading interface. When a target element is identified, one or more actions may be pre-configured based on the target element. For example, when a target element is associated with a buy action and a price, an order message to buy a tradeable object at the price may be generated based on the predicted target element. Then, a user action may be received to select the target element and to execute the action. The user action selecting the target element may be received prior to the cursor reaching the desired target.

  • Patent number: 8671046
Abstract: A system for buying and selling click-through traffic from a seller's web site employs an intermediary web site for conducting a multi-buyer pre-bidding trial of click through traffic so that a plurality of interested buyers can see for themselves what level and quality of traffic is generated to their webs sites. The trial is conducted with each buyer in turn during a trial period prior to opening bidding by the interested buyers for click through traffic from the seller's web site. The trial is conducted by placing a trial link on the seller's web site to the intermediary web site which links to each buyer's web site in turn during the trial period. The intermediary web site measures the click-through traffic during the trial process, so that the participating buyers are informed in real time of the actual performance of click-through traffic.

  • Patent number: 8671070
Abstract: In one example, when a user reads content on a web browser, the content may contain information about companies, and may suggest, to the user, various financial transactions to be performed with respect to those companies. For example, the user may want to react to financial news about a company by buying or selling stock in the company. A software component (e.g., a browser plug-in) may be used to evaluate content that the user is reading, and to display a user interface that allows the user to perform financial transactions based on the content. For example, if the user reads a news article about a company, the software component may display an interface that shows the ticker symbol of the company's stock and allows the user to initiate a transaction to buy or sell that stock.

  • Patent number: 8666890
Abstract: A transaction account is disclosed that includes attributes of a checking or savings account in that, for example, an account holder earns interest on a positive balance in the account. The transaction account additionally includes attributes of a credit-card-type account in that the account holder owes interest on a negative balance in the account. With such an account having the positive and negative balance attributes of checking or savings accounts and of credit-card-like accounts, the account holder or customer may manage the account more efficiently than by maintaining multiple accounts. The financial institution may save costs resulting from the overhead associated with maintaining numerous accounts for the same customer. Finally, the financial institution may benefit from charging a credit-card-like transaction fee to merchants that accept the card even if the transaction results in a positive balance in the transaction account.

  • Patent number: 8650108
Abstract: Systems and methods for prioritizing multiple funding requests within an enterprise are provided. Aspects of the invention may be used in enterprises where separate departments or groups within the enterprise have differing goals. It often is beneficial to ensure that funded projects within the various departments do not deviate from the enterprise's core goals, such that the enterprise suffers from profit erosion and/or an undue risk. In one aspect, novel methods provide a segment score to prioritize different projects in the context of the enterprise's risk, strategy, and finance goals. In another aspect, a computer-readable medium may be used to execute computer-readable instructions for prioritizing multiple projects in view of the enterprise's goals.

  • Patent number: 8639617
Abstract: Forecasting frequencies associated with future loss and loss distributions for individual risks associated with operating units, each which have a measurable liability exposure, is accomplished via independently operated liability risk drivers. The frequencies associated with future loss and loss distributions are also forecasted for an automated operation of a loss resolving unit via a control unit controller. When a loss occurs at a loss unit, measure parameters are measured and transmitted to the control unit controller. The control unit controller dynamically assigns the measure parameters to the liability risk drivers and tunes the operation of the loss resolving unit by resolving the loss via the loss resolving unit.

  • Patent number: 8626645
Abstract: Some embodiments disclosed herein are directed to systems and methods for assessing mortgage lender and broker compliance. The systems and methods may receive loan pricing data, underwriting data, and/or borrower data from mortgage brokers and/or lenders, reconstruct the underwriting processes performed by lenders and brokers, and monitor many aspects of these processes. The reconstructed results may then be compared to the actual results to detect potential non-compliance of laws and/or regulations, including the practice of upstreaming and/or downstreaming. Because some embodiments of the invention greatly enhance the monitoring capability of mortgage regulators, they would motivate mortgage lenders and brokers to better conform their underwriting practice to existing laws and regulations.

  • Patent number: 8589272
Abstract: A system and method are provided for facilitating the amending of syndicated loans. Authorized users are registered in connection with their respective funds invested in the loan. Fund registration data is received for each fund and includes the fund holding amount and whether the fund is of the single or dual signature type. Authorized users may vote supporting, opposing or conditional with regard to the proposed amendment. A calculation is performed to anticipate the voting outcome before the amendment deadline. If the amendment is anticipated to pass, the conditional votes are converted to supporting votes. Typical embodiments provide for an Internet-enabled interface through which authorized users may enter or change their vote while monitoring the real-time status of the amendment. Agents may be automatically provided fund consents for each fund ending up with a supporting vote in a passing amendment. Funds may be automatically notified of the consent fee earned.
