  • Patent number: 10953176
Abstract: An assembly for intubation, as provided herein, may include a cricothyroidotomy tube that can receive a malleable bougie allowing the cricothyroidotomy tube to take the shape of the bougie so that the cricothyroidotomy tube can be placed in a patient. A guide device can receive the bougie so that the bougie can be manipulated with the guide device to assist with insertion of the cricothyroidotomy tube in the patient. A bougie opening can be defined in the guide device for receiving a proximal end of the bougie to position the proximal end out of the way of a care giver to reduce interference that can be caused by the proximal end. Markings on the bougie can illustrate where to position the bougie to allow a predetermined amount of the bougie to extend from the cricothyroidotomy tube.

  • Patent number: 10869978
Abstract: A method for measuring a patient's expired CO2 level in a non-invasive ventilator system while maintaining a positive inspiratory pressure. The method includes the steps of: receiving, by the non-invasive ventilator system, a signal comprising an instruction to obtain a CO2 measurement from a patient; lowering, by the non-invasive ventilator system in response to the signal, the expiratory positive airway pressure from a first, higher level to a second, lower level for a first time period comprising one or more breaths; obtaining, by a CO2 sensor, a CO2 measurement during the first time period; and returning, after the first time period, the expiratory positive airway pressure to the first, higher level.

  • Patent number: 10792458
Abstract: A pressure support system includes a pressure generating device, an airflow path, and a control system. The control system is structured to determine a first measurement indicative of an amount of water vapor in the airflow path or an amount of condensation in the airflow path and generate a number of control signals structured to control an environmental control device structured to control an environmental parameter in an environment including the pressure support system, wherein the control signals are generated based on at least the first measurement and are configured to cause the environmental control device to adjust the environmental parameter in a manner that will reduce a degree or a likelihood of rainout in the airflow path, and transmit the control signals to the environmental control device so that it may be controlled to reduce the degree or likelihood of rainout.

  • Patent number: 10786694
Abstract: An air-supply device for supplying breathing air into a breathing-air region. An inflow opening connected to an outflow region via an interior. An outflow region connected to the outflow region via the interior. The outflow region formed on a flexible, air-permeable material. For flexible use of the air-supply device and to avoid significant adverse effect to a user, provision is made for the air-supply device to have a sheet-like, flexible portion, which has a first flat side and a second flat side, located opposite the first. The outflow region arranged on the first flat side. The interior formed between the first flat side and the second flat side. In the interior, at least the outflow region has arranged on it at least one spacer, which prevents the outflow region from butting against the second flat side.
