  • Patent number: 11766266
Abstract: The present invention provides a cutting tool for surgical procedures. More specifically, the present invention provides a rotary surgical cutting tool which overcomes the disadvantages of prior art surgical cutting tools by providing a rotary cutting tool having straight flutes, with each side of the flute being provided with a cutting edge that permits cutting in both directions during limited oscillatory motion of the rotary surgical cutting tool. The areas between the cutting edges are provided with relief to reduce friction while the flute moves the cut material away from the cutting edges.

  • Patent number: 11642184
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a device for allowing universal surgical tool exchange. The device of the present invention includes a tool-side adapter and a robot-side adapter that combine the benefits of a robot in the operating room (OR) with a system that has minimal impact on the current surgical workflow. The device of the present invention allows surgeons to preserve their natural grip on the surgical tool, creates a reliable and repeatable connection between the tool and the robot, and allows the user to rapidly swap the tools in and out from the surgical robot using a single-handed motion. A unique RFID tag and receiver is embedded in the tool-side adapter and the robot-side adapter, respectively to allow the robot to identify the tool that has been engaged. The present invention is universally applicable to any robotic system that is intended to hold a set of hand instruments.

  • Patent number: 11589985
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described herein for use in the transfemoral delivery and deployment of a prosthetic mitral valve. In some embodiments, a method includes inverting an outer frame of a prosthetic mitral valve when in a biased expanded configuration. After inverting the outer frame, the prosthetic mitral valve is inserted into a lumen of a delivery sheath such that the mitral valve is moved to a collapsed configuration. The delivery sheath is inserted into a femoral vein and moved through the femoral vein and a septum of a heart until a distal end of the delivery sheath is disposed in the left atrium of the heart. The prosthetic mitral valve is moved distally out of the delivery sheath such that the inverted outer frame reverts and the prosthetic mitral valve assumes its biased expanded configuration. The prosthetic mitral valve is then positioned within a mitral annulus of the heart.

  • Patent number: 11432624
Abstract: The gauge enhancer body jewelry system allows individuals to increase their earlobes to the size they desire. It eliminates the need to constantly purchase new gauges as earlobes expand. It reduces pain associated with the enlargement process and forcing uncomfortably large gauges into earlobe holes. As designed it decreases the risk of infection from removing and replacing gauges. The present invention saves a considerable amount of time and frustration, and allows individuals to enlarge their earlobes at their own pace.
