  • Patent number: 7413393
Abstract: A method for unloading a drilling rig substructure at a drilling site entails transporting the substructure to the drilling site using a truck and a dolly. The substructure is lowered onto the dolly rollers. The dolly is secured and the truck moves towards the dolly pushing the substructure along the rollers. The gooseneck is disconnected from the substructure and connected to the dolly. A first wireline is connected from a first winch to the substructure and a second wireline is connected from the second winch to the substructure through the sheave block. The second winch pulls the substructure along the rollers and is disconnected once the substructure contacts the site. The dolly is unsecured and the truck moves in an opposite direction from the rig, thereby allowing the substructure to move along rollers onto the site. A method for loading a drilling rig substructure onto a truck and a dolly is also described herein.

  • Patent number: 7134829
Abstract: A trailer for carrying cargo includes a frame, at least two axles mounted to the frame, and a deck. The axles have wheels at opposite ends of the axles for movably supporting the frame above the ground. The deck is pivotally mounted to the frame and is pivotable about a first axis relative to the frame and a second axis relative to the frame via at least two supports. The first axis extends generally longitudinally along the deck and the second axis extends generally laterally across the deck and generally normal to the first axis. The deck is also slidable generally along the first axis relative to the frame and/or one of the supports. The deck thus may be adjusted about multiple axes and may be moved forwardly or rearwardly relative to the frame to position the deck in a desired location and orientation relative to the frame.

  • Patent number: 7112026
Abstract: A device for lifting and supporting a cabinet during installation thereof and including elongated support legs and elongated dowels connected to the support legs for preventing the movement of the support legs and for maintaining the device at a substantially stable positioned during operating conditions. Side panels are secured to the upper end of the support legs for defining a cavity therebetween, and a moveable section is disposed substantially medially of the side panels. There is a pulley mechanism for selectively lifting the movable section in a substantially vertical direction between raised and lowered positions that is disposed within the cavity and is anchored to the moveable section and the side panels.

  • Patent number: 7101136
Abstract: Apparatus for lifting and transporting drywall panels has a pair of panel-supporting legs of square tubing attachable to side rails of a lift platform. Each leg is connected to the rails by an upper bracket at the top of the leg and a lower bracket at a middle location. A panel-receiving U-shaped channel is located on the opposite side of the legs, away from the rails. The lower bracket has a standoff member projecting the bottom of the leg outward at an angle. A roller at the base of the channel provides low-friction rolling contact with an inserted panel, and a groove in this roller serves to guide the panel. Rollers at the tops of the legs and elsewhere are placed to keep panels from being damaged by contact with the legs.

  • Patent number: 7100896
Abstract: A system for loading, off-loading and/or transferring conventional international shipping containers with respect to transport vehicles which system includes a plurality of powered jacks each of which includes upper and lower container attachment members which are selectively engageable with upper and lower corner lock castings of the containers. Each attachment member is carried by a guide sleeve slideably mounted relative to a vertical standard with an upper guide sleeve being drivingly engaged with a power driven member such that, with the attachment members engaged with the corner locks of the container, the simultaneous activation of four jacks allows the elevation and/or lowering of a shipping container relative to a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7097409
Abstract: A ladder rack for supporting a ladder in a stowage position and for moving the ladder between the stowage position and a loading/unloading position at which the ladder can be loaded onto the rack or unloaded from the rack. The ladder rack includes: a frame assembly which is mounted on a support structure such as a vehicle roof; a bed platform having a first end that is pivotally coupled to the frame assembly at a fixed position and a second end that is coupled to the frame assembly for alternative sliding and hinged movement with respect to the frame assembly; and a manually operative sliding mechanism and a manually operative pivoting mechanism for moving the bed platform between the stowage position and the loading/unloading position.

  • Patent number: 7001132
Abstract: A foldable wheelchair ramp is disclosed having a mountable base, a first ramp section and a second ramp section. In an extended configuration, the first and second ramp sections form a single, continuous ramp for facilitating wheelchair access to vehicles. For convenient storage, the first and second ramp sections fold with respect to each other and preferably retract into the vehicle floor such that, in the folded configuration, the top surface of the second ramp section lies substantially in the same plane as the vehicle floor. A linking assembly is provided to facilitate and control the folding of the ramp sections. For safety purposes, the ramp also includes a lid that covers the gaps between the ramp and the vehicle floor when the ramp is in an extended position.
