  • Patent number: 6466257
Abstract: A method and tool for measurement of the roll static attitude and y-misalignment of magnetic recording sliders within the head stack assembly having reference elements placed on the deposited end of the magnetic recording slider, which are optically analyzed by a video camera connected to a computer. For fast measurement the head stack assembly is clamped in a fixture mounted on motorized stages, which move each slider into the measurement position. In a two step imaging and analyzing process, the orientation and location of one or more edges of the reference element are computed and compared with known control parameters.

  • Patent number: 6456659
Abstract: A motion estimator operating on a recursive mode reduces the number of operations per pixels required by the particular coding process being implemented. The coding process includes the MPEG standard. A method is based on the correlation existing among motion vectors associated to macroblocks in a common position in temporally adjacent images. The method is also associated to macroblocks belonging to the same picture and spatially adjacent to the current macroblock being processed. By using this double correlation, the calculation burden is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6452973
Abstract: A system for converting a heterogeneous compressed moving picture data, includes: a variable length decoder for generating variable length decoded data as first compressed moving picture data from a first data bit stream; a compressed moving picture data analyzer for analyzing layer types of the first compressed moving picture data; a layer-matching device for matching layers of the first compressed moving picture data to layers of second compressed moving picture data, thereby generating the second compressed moving picture data; and a variable length encoder for generating variable length coded data as a second data bit stream. Thereby, the system can convert an H.261 compressed moving picture data to an MPEG-1 compressed moving picture data on a compression domain.
