Abstract: Hair washing apparatus which can be selectively adjusted depending on the height of the person performing the hair washing and the person whose hair is being washed. A hair washing unit includes a bowl unit at which a hair washing is performed by the hair washer, a hair washing chair detachably connected to the hair washing unit via a chair supporting arm and a frame. A mechanism for moving the bowl up and down is provided at an upper end of the frame and a mechanism for moving the washing chair up and down is provided at a lower front side of the frame.

Abstract: A fitting for connecting to an end of tubing. The fitting includes a fitting body having a generally tubular construction with a first end adapted for leakproof connection to another component. A second end has a socket connector with tapered interior sidewall portions forming a truncated conical shape such that an end of a tube can be inserted into the socket connector and tightly wedged therein to form a leakproof seal. At least a portion of the fitting body is made of a light-transmitting material such that material lodged within the fitting body is visible from the exterior of the fitting body.

Abstract: A retainer for a pool liner has an elongate retaining element includes a longitudinal holding channel for accommodating a liner bead, the channel having an upper wall with a downwardly extending second flange, a rear wall and a bottom wall with a forwardly positioned upwardly extending first flange. The area between the second flange and the first flange forms a slot for insertion of the bead into the channel. A third flange is positioned outside of said channel on the upper wall. An elongate resilient cap has a first hooked peripheral edge portion for hooking over the second flange, and an opposed second hooked peripheral edge portion for hooking over the third flange. The cap can be retained by snapping the hooked portions over the respective second and third flanges. The first peripheral edge portion has an outwardly disposed shoulder extending toward the first flange.

Abstract: A vacuum waste system is disclosed having a receptacle for receiving waste, the receptacle having an outlet, and a collection tank in fluid communication with the receptacle outlet. A vacuum source is in fluid communication with the collection tank to produce a partial vacuum in the collection tank. A flush actuator is provided that is operable to generate a flush command, and a flush valve is disposed between the toilet outlet and the collection tank having a normally closed position, the flush valve actuating to an open position for a flush interval in response to the flush command, thereby to control fluid communication between the collection tank and toilet outlet. A vacuum control valve is disposed between the vacuum source and the collection tank, the vacuum control valve being operable between open and closed positions thereby to control fluid communication between the collection tank and vacuum source.

Abstract: A separate-type cistern handle base mount has a base mount installed onto the side wall of a cistern, a pressure control seat assembled to the front end of the base mount, and a stem inserted through the base mount and fixed at the front end of the pressure control seat. The base mount is a T-shaped anchoring structure and holds a colored decorative piece against the side wall of the cistern tank. The pressure control seat has an end cap fastened to the front end with a center hole to provide for the insertion of the stem through a passage of the base mount, the threaded hole of the sleeve fitting, and the center hole of the end cap. A set screw is fastened into the lateral wall of the end cap to secure the pressure control seat.

Abstract: An essentially hollow housing inside of which is supported a ferrule, with female pipe threads for connecting to a water supply and a ball valve for turning the water supply on and off. The ball valve includes a handle, for operating the ball valve, which is supported exterior to the housing. At the end of the housing there is a spout for diverting water flow from the horizontal to the vertical. The handle may be shaped so that the condition of the valve (i.e. open or closed) may be readily determined. In an alternate embodiment there is a hand held shower connection that joins the ferrule and passes through the hollow housing at a compound angle at one side.

Abstract: A push rod 50 is provided in a container body 4 and a cartridge 2 is attached to the container body 4 in such a manner that the cartridge 2 can be attached and detached. Due to rotations of the container body 4 and the cartridge 2, a feeding mechanism causes the push rod 50 in the container body 4 to spirally advance, pushes a core chuck member 20 in the cartridge 2, and causes a stick type cosmetic material retained at the core chuck member 20 to move forward and backward. The core chuck member 20 is always urged in a direction of retreat by a spring 3, and when the cartridge 2 is attached to the container body 4, the push rod 50 is pushed back by repulsion to an inside of the container body 4 so as to prevent the stick type cosmetic material from projecting out of the cartridge 2.

Abstract: A gas evacuating device is provided for evacuating organic intestinal gases from a toilet to outside of a bathroom. The device includes a toilet seat installed on a toilet base, and base or support members for securing the toilet seat to the toilet base at opposing sides of the toilet seat. A rubber joint member is disposed between the seat and the base of the toilet and has openings therein. The toilet seat is provided with channels in which filters are disposed, and holes leading from the toilet interior to the channels. Passages are provided in the seat and the base members to connect the channels to a hose and a gas extractor.

Abstract: Apparatus for multi-dose delivery of preservative-free pharmaceuticals includes a film laminate flexible container for holding and maintaining a sterile drug formulation. A nozzle disposed within the container and in fluid communication therewith provides for dropwise dispensing of the formulation from the flexible container. The nozzle includes an interface established by inner and outer portions of the nozzle which is normally sealed. The nozzle out of portion is sufficiently flexible to enable expansion thereof and passage of the dry formulation therethrough by a piston which withdraws selected volumes of the formulation from the container.

Abstract: An adjustable holder device for holding and attaching an object to a supporting wall member includes a holder member for supporting the object, and a sucker member for movably securing the holder member to the wall member. The sucker member may be moved or adjusted relative to the wall member to any suitable position, and the holder member may be magnetically secured to the sucker member and may be rotated or adjusted relative to the sucker member to any suitable or selected angular position. A cover may be engaged and press the sucker member against the wall member.

Abstract: A walk-on tray for concealing a pool cover operation system. The system includes a plurality of brackets each having a load-bearing upper portion. The brackets are attached to a sidewall of an elongate recess formed at one end of a pool, such that the load-bearing upper portions of the brackets extend in a substantially horizontal orientation. A plurality of platform sections each include a platform piece and an attachment plate moveably disposed below an under side of the platform piece, and a nut-tightening arrangement such that the load-bearing upper portions of the brackets may be securely sandwiched between the under side of the platform piece and the attachment plate, such that said platform sections reside in a side-by-side, sequential series. The platform sections include a mortar veneer insert, and mortar designs may be chosen and customized to modify an appearance of the mortar veneer to match an appearance of perimeter sections of a pool deck.

Abstract: A battery watering unit is mounted atop a battery cell, and includes an open-topped vessel having a bottom wall. A side wall arrangement having an opening at the bottom forms a first divider to partition the vessel into a vented portion and an air entrapping portion. A further side wall arrangement having an opening at the top forms a second divider weir and imposes a significant restriction on the flow of electrolyte from the chamber into a pressure-communicating duct within a downpipe via a restricted orifice. The battery cell is topped up via the vessel with electrolyte following a flowpath over the second divider weir and into the downpipe. As the level of electrolyte rises, the lowermost opening in the downpipe is blocked. A further increase in the level of electrolyte forms, via the air-entrapping portion of the vessel, a pressurized air column in the downpipe which is sufficient to prevent further inflow of electrolyte over the second divider weir.

Abstract: A pool cover support frame has a central vertical support member with a plurality of radially projecting spokes extending from a hub mounted atop the central vertical support member. The spokes attach to the edge of the pool walls via clamps, and are spaced evenly about the perimeter. Spokes are inserted under compressive force into the hub, causing them to bow outwardly in an arc, creating an arched dome over which to arrange a pool cover.

Abstract: A faucet handle mechanism for attaching a faucet handle to a faucet valve body, which valve body has a rotatable valve stem, includes an adapter coaxial with and attached to the valve stem for concurrent rotation with the stem. There is an insert coaxial with and attached to the adapter for concurrent rotation with the insert and stem. A handle is coaxial with and attached to the insert for concurrent rotation with the insert, adapter and valve stem. A fastener secures the adapter, insert and handle together. There is a generally cylindrical chassis coaxial with and extending about the adapter, with the chassis being non-rotatably attached to the valve body. A shell is non-rotatably mounted on the chassis, with the chassis having an upper bearing surface which rotatably supports a lower bearing surface on the insert. The chassis and adapter have cooperating elements which prevent relative axial movement therebetween.

Abstract: A closure apparatus and a method of installing the same are provided. The closure apparatus is adapted to mount to a toilet having a cover, a bowl ledge and a flush mechanism. The closure apparatus includes a mounting bolt having an opening extending therethrough and a rod disposed within the opening of the bolt. The apparatus also includes a spring that is adapted to be deformed by the rod to thereby bias the rod and a lever movable with respect to the mounting bolt. A latch release mechanism coupled to the lever is also included. Upon flushing the toilet when the cover is open, and when the closure apparatus is mounted on the bowl ledge, the latch release mechanism causes the latch point of the lever to move with respect to the mounting bolt and allows the spring to move the rod, which pushes the cover, to thereby close the cover.

Abstract: A compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling system has banks of cylinders containing CNG, a hydraulic fluid reservoir containing a hydraulic fluid which does not readily mix with CNG, and reversible flow valves. Each cylinder has a fitting installed in an opening at one end. The fitting contains a hydraulic fluid port and a gas port. The other end of each cylinder is closed. Hydraulic fluid is pumped from the reservoir into each cylinder through the hydraulic fluid port. Inside each cylinder, the hydraulic fluid directly contacts the CNG, forcing the CNG out through the gas port. When a sensor detects that the cylinders are substantially drained of CNG, the reversible flow valves will reverse orientation, allowing the hydraulic fluid to flow back into the reservoir.

Abstract: A seat supporting table for a barber of beauty chair which can slide a barber or beauty chair even when the barber or beauty chair is provided with no sliding function. A sliding plate, to which the barber or beauty chair is attached, is slid forward and backward to a desired position along a guide rail for guiding a slide of the sliding plate. A sliding power controlling bolt for controlling a sliding power required for sliding the sliding plate is also provided and a slider controls the sliding of the sliding plate.

Abstract: A proximal end of a coolant nozzle is inserted into a large-diameter portion provided at an end of a shaft's coolant passage. The coolant nozzle is urged toward the distal end thereof, by a coil spring, and is prevented from coming out, by a stopper screw. Provided at the distal end face of the coolant nozzle is an O-ring, as a sealing member, that contacts to the periphery of an opening to a coolant passage of a tool holder. The O-ring may be easily replaced because the O-ring can be removed together with the coolant nozzle after the removal of the stopper screw.
