  • Patent number: 5090632
Abstract: Apparatus, for winding coils of various geometric configuration, includes a rotary spindle provided with a mounting face on which a segmented core spool assembly is mounted. This assembly is thus fixed by a clamping flange extending a tongue into the spindle. A cam and a swash plate on the spindle then articulate a pivoted arm on which a wire guide is fixed. The cam is then useful in minimizing the dynamic components of the wire wound onto an irregular shape while the swash plate controls the winding lace.

  • Patent number: 5073145
Abstract: A joint movable in all directions for linkages and Cardan shafts. The joint includes only two parts of identical design made from an elastically deformable plastic, wherein the coupling members of identical design are fitted into each other at a 90.degree. angle while elastic deformation takes place.

  • Patent number: 5069396
Abstract: A two-bearing reel comprises a first side plate and a second side plate opposed to each other, a spool shaft carrying a spool and rotatably supported between the first and second side plates, the spool shaft including an extension projecting outwardly from a first bearing supported by the first side plate, a master gear driven by a handle, a pinion gear meshed with the master gear and slidably supported on the extension, and a clutch provided between the spool shaft and pinion gear. The clutch includes engaging projections provided on the spool shaft and engaging grooves provided on the pinion gear. The first bearing defines passage grooves on inside surfaces thereof perpendicular to a direction in which a load acts on the spool shaft, for allowing passage of the engaging projections therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5064139
Abstract: A fishing reel having a reel body, a spool rotatably supported to the reel body, a spool braking plate for braking the spool, a unidirectional rotation transmitting mechanism disposed between the spool and the spool braking plate, the mechanism having anti-reverse teeth and a stopper claw. The mechanism prevents reverse rotation of the spool through engagement between the anti-reverse teeth and the stopper claw. The fishing reel is characterized by a stopper-claw control member attached to a rotary member opposing to the spool braking plate to be rotatable within a predetermined angular range. The control member has a control portion engageable with the stopper claw for controlling engagement and disengagement of the stopper claw.

  • Patent number: 5056760
Abstract: A sheave that has the advantage of being able to be quickly coupled to a le, and quickly decoupled from the cable. A further advantage is that the shaft of the pulley on which the cable rides is journaled at each end in side members that interlock when the sheave is in its closed position to support the shaft both from above the pulley, and from below. Other advantages include that the interlock is an arcuate T-shaped extension in the rotatable side member and a corresponding arcuate T-slot groove with which it engages in the stationary side member. The rotatable side member is affixed to the shaft of the pulley and is operable to rotate about the shaft from its closed and interlocked position to its open and disengaged position whereat the pulley is exposed such that the cable, cord or the like may be coupled or decoupled to the pulley.

  • Patent number: 5054745
Abstract: An auxiliary winch for mounting on the drive axle of an all terrain vehicle and operating by rotation of the drive axle to remove the all terrain vehicle from a stuck or bogged condition. In a preferred embodiment, the auxiliary winch is characterized by a split shaft fitting having matching split shaft halves for fixed retrofitting to the drive axle of the all terrain vehicle and a split reel characterized by a pair of matching split reel halves which mount on the split shaft fitting in normally rotatable relationship. A pair of wing nut bolts are used to couple the split shaft fitting to the split reel. One end of a winch line is anchored to the split reel, the winch line is extended through a pulley mounted on the vehicle frame above and in alignment with the split reel and the opposite end of the winch line is secured to a tree, stump or other fixed object when the all terrain vehicle is stuck or bogged.

  • Patent number: 5007616
Abstract: In an improved carpet stretching tool characterized by an anchor assembly at the rear of the tubular member which includes a support body telescopingly received in the rear end of the tubular member and releasably fastened thereto, with an inclined socket arranged at an increased angle to accommodate thicker carpets. An elongated anchor member has a straight shank portion inserted into the socket and releasably fastened to the support body, an inclined portion turned down at a selected angle to the shank portion with a beveled section terminating in a point for piercing the carpet. The inclined portion is substantially closer to the vertical than the horizontal which together with the blunt beveled edges ensure a reliable anchor to the floor surface underlying the carpet.
