  • Patent number: 10564801
Abstract: A method includes defining a virtual space containing an avatar object and the avatar object includes a virtual head and a virtual body. The method includes receiving first information, wherein the first information contains information indicating a relationship between a first direction indicating a direction in which a real body is facing and a second direction indicating a direction in which a real head is facing. The method includes determining in which of a first mode or a second mode the avatar object is to be controlled. The method includes controlling the avatar object without synchronizing movement of the virtual head and movement of the virtual body in response the first mode being set. The method includes controlling the avatar object so that the movement of the virtual head and the movement of the virtual body are synchronized with each other in response the second mode being set.

  • Patent number: 10535178
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for performing shader writes to compressed surfaces are disclosed. In one embodiment, a processor includes at least a memory and one or more shader units. In one embodiment, a shader unit of the processor is configured to receive a write request targeted to a compressed surface. The shader unit is configured to identify a first block of the compressed surface targeted by the write request. Responsive to determining the data of the write request targets less than the entirety of the first block, the first shader unit reads the first block from the cache and decompress the first block. Next, the first shader unit merges the data of the write request with the decompressed first block. Then, the shader unit compresses the merged data and writes the merged data to the cache.

  • Patent number: 10522112
Abstract: Systems and techniques for aggregation, display, and sharing of data. One or more content rules define the content of a data package. Data objects are associated with the data package based on the content rules. Each data object is also associated with a respective source channel and a respective time when the data object was made available on the associated channel. The channels correspond to different third-party communication applications. Graphic items are displayed on timelines, where each timeline is associated with a respective channel and each graphic item represents one or more of the data objects made available on the channel. Each graphic item is displayed on the corresponding timeline at a position corresponding to the one or more times associated with the data objects represented by the graphic item.

  • Patent number: 10510182
Abstract: A graphics processing system includes a tiling unit for performing tiling calculations and a hidden surface removal (HSR) unit for performing HSR on fragments of the primitives. Primitive depth information is calculated in the tiling unit and forwarded for use by the HSR unit in performing HSR on the fragments. This takes advantage of the tiling unit having access to the primitive data before the HSR unit performs the HSR on the primitive fragments, to determine some depth information which can simplify the HSR performed by the HSR unit. Therefore, the final values of a depth buffer determined in the tiling unit can be used in the HSR unit to determine that a particular fragment will be subsequently hidden by a fragment of a primitive which is yet to be processed in the HSR unit, such that the particular fragment can be culled.

  • Patent number: 10469796
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes an image capturing unit, a display, and a controller. The image capturing unit is configured to capture images of a real space. The display is configured to display the images. If an image of a specific portion of a target an operation of which is to be described is included in the images captured by the image capturing unit, the controller generate operation description images by adding an image for instructing the operation to the captured images and controls the display to sequentially display the generated operation description images. When generating the operation description images, the controller stores a part of the generated operation description images. If the specific portion cannot be detected from the images captured by the image capturing unit before description on the operation of the specific portion is completed, the controller displays the stored operation description images on the display.
