Abstract: A golf wrist training apparatus is attachable to the arm of the golfer-in-training, and controls the range of wrist movement during each of the various phases of a golf swing. The apparatus includes a hand-attachment member and a forearm-attachment member. The apparatus restricts enables the wrists to move freely in the lateral plane of motion, and restricts wrist movement within the forward/backward plane of motion. The backswing allowable range of motion is greater than the downswing allowable range of motion. The apparatus also includes a release mechanism which enables the apparatus to be easily reset prior to each use.

Abstract: A golf club head is formed with a ball impacting face having an outer layer of wood veneer bonded to an inner layer of synthetic resin reinforced fibers by a synthetic resin which impregnates both layers. In a wood-type version of the club head, the outer shell is formed over a molded foam plastic core by covering the core with a flexible woven resin reinforced fibers sock, impregnating the sock with an uncured synthetic resin, covering the impregnated sock with a pair of shaped wood veneer matched halves so that the wood veneer is impregnated with resin, and curing the composite in forming molds.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for improving the scoring skills of a player practicing a sport, such as hockey, ringette, broomball, soccer and lacrosse, involving propelling a playing piece into a goal tended by a goalkeeper is disclosed. A target support is sized to approximate the goal and at least two targets positioned thereon are representative of areas which are typically unprotected by a goalkeeper in a common goal guarding position. A sensor detects a player in a predetermined area proximate the target support and generates a signal to a processor which executes a program to indicate at least one of the targets as a current target for which the player should aim. The current target indicator is activated for a predetermined period of time, for example dependent on the skill of the player, or until the playing piece successfully strikes the current target. The processor preferably accumulates statistics useful in gaging the skill progression of the practicing player.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a football kicking tee having a ring extending in a segment of a circle for a perimeter distance of about between 180.degree. to 360.degree.. The ring has a first surface having a first frictionally enhanced finish for supporting a football, and also has a second surface having a second frictionally enhanced finish for engaging a substrate.
Abstract: A therapeutic pad for heating or cooling has a liquid absorbent to prevent liquid leakage in the event the sealed envelope of the pad is ruptured. The method of forming the pad includes vacuuming the thermoplastic envelope prior to sealing. The pad can be used alone or with a comforter to provide warmth or to remove heat from the body of the user.
Abstract: Disclosed is a ball support specially designed for golf practice, which mainly consists of a disk-like base and a ball holder associated with the base. The base is preferably made of rubber material and has a substantially conic top surface and a central through hole with downward expanded lower portion. The ball holder is also preferably made of rubber material and has a seat having a configuration corresponding to that of the central through hole of the base such that the ball holder may be fitly received in the base. The ball holder further has an inwardly curved and reduced waist portion and a top portion above the waist portion for holding a ball thereon. The top portion of the ball holder has a central semi-spherical recess and a further reduced hole formed on a bottom of the semi-spherical recess. With these arrangements, the club, the ball holder, and/or the disk-like base are not easily damaged due to incorrectly swung club during the practice.
Abstract: A laminated ball bat is provided having a handle end and a barrel end. The laminated ball bat includes first and second laminae cut from an elongate wood block. The elongate wood block has first and second spaced ends with the ends spaced lengthwise of the elongate wood block and has grain running lengthwise between the first and second ends. The first and second laminae each have first and second ends corresponding to the first and second ends of the elongate wood block and have at least one curved growth ring portion opening in a direction transverse to a line extending between the first and second ends of each of the first and second laminae.
Abstract: An improved portable golf putting cup having a circular base (6) and upwardly curved-outer walls (7) that graduate the golf ball (12) into a circular-central depression (S). (FIGS. 1 and 4)This portable putting cup provides an angled-shock-absorbing lip (9), golf-ball-gripping teeth (10), reclining-inner walls (15), and shock-absorbing material (13). (FIGS. 2-4) The purpose of my improved putting cup is to provide a method of practicing one's putting or engaging in the game of indoor miniature golf by using multiple cups.
Abstract: A device for use with, and attachment to, a game net to impede the movement of a ball directed at the device includes a frame, an impeding net, and a stabilizing structure. The frame includes a top member and two side members, and one end of each of the two side members is attached to the top of the game net such that a target area at which the moving ball can be directed is defined by the frame and the top of the game net. The impeding net is attached at least to the top member of the frame, spans substantially all of the target area, and extends from the top member to below the top of the game net. The impeding net substantially impedes the movement of the ball when the moving ball passes through the target area. The stabilizing structure stabilizes the frame relative to the game net by extending from the frame to a surface below the game net. The device is easily transported when not attached to the game net because the frame and the stabilizing structure are collapsible.
Abstract: A rotating pinball bridge and drop is provided which comprises a rotatable cylinder with a hole sufficiently sized to allow a pinball to pass through. The cylinder is rotated by a drive member so that a ball may either pass through or be dropped from the ramp.
Abstract: A toy simulates an arcade game. A compartment at the top of a box has a transparent bottom and contains game pieces that may be manipulated from a control panel at a front of a box. A mirror in the box reflects the image of the game pieces as seen through the transparent bottom. To play the game, a user looks at the reflection image of the game pieces while he manipulates the controls at the front of the box. Here, the game is a pinball machine in which the transparent bottom has a plurality of upstanding pegs which divert balls into random paths. Any balls which are caught by a manipulation of the controls are diverted into one scoring path. Any balls which are not so caught fall into another scoring path. The invention provides for releasing a selected number of objects at one time to change the required skill level to play. Also, by changing the direction in which the transparent bottom slants, different games maybe provided.
Abstract: A golf ball putter including a concaved surface and a deformable handle which temporarily conforms to the fingers of the golfer during use. The reverse face of the putter may include a central cavity and a pair of tapered cavities to reduce weight and improve balance. A concaved ball striking face includes a central flatted portion with a pair of slightly curved surfaces extending from the flatted portion.
Abstract: A golf club counterweight for releasible attachment to, and relocation upon, a golf club shaft is formed by a weight member having a shaft aperture sized to accommodate the shaft of a golf club. Friction means are provided within the weight member so that it may be relocated upon the shaft as the golfer desires. By attachment and relocation upon the shaft, the counterweight affects the weight distribution of the golf club by increasing/decreasing the golf club mass near the golf club head, and thus changes the swing weight of the golf club. The golfer may thus adapt the swing weight of the golf club to account for variations in golf course conditions and in the golfer's personal preferences in the feel and handling of the golf club.
Abstract: A bat for baseball and softball with an attachable tip at the exterior end comprising a cylindrical device having a first inboard portion adapted to be held by a player and a second outboard portion adapted to strike a ball upon swinging of the bat, the inboard end and the outboard portion having a common axis; the inboard portion having an enlarged knob at its end with material over the inboard portion from adjacent to the knob to a location at an intermediate extent of the inboard portion; and the outboard portion being formed with a diameter substantially equal to twice the diameter of the inboard portion with a short tapering section therebetween.
