  • Patent number: 4613981
Abstract: An X-ray lithography apparatus permits the successive exposure of each of four quadrants of a semiconductor wafer through a single mask. The mask overlays one quadrant of the wafer at a time and the wafer is rotated through 90 degrees after exposure of a quadrant to allow exposure of succeeding wafer quadrants; each wafer quadrant is independently aligned to the mask prior to exposure. In an alternative preferred embodiment, a rotatable diaphragm is used to select a single mask quadrant from a mask which overlays the entire surface of the semiconductor wafer. Both the wafer and the diaphragm may be rotated to allow various exposure combinations of mask and wafer quadrants.

  • Patent number: 4609940
Abstract: The invention relates to a radiodiagnostic installation with a motor-adjustable patient table, a motor-adjustable radiation diaphragm, and an image intensifier television system for image reproduction. With the monitor of the image intensifier television system a light pen is associated for the entry of certain sites on the monitor into a memory. Connected to the memory are control circuits for the motors of the patient table and of the primary radiation diaphragm, which are designed so that the patient table and the primary radiation diaphragm are adjusted in accordance with the respective image field on the monitor to which the light pen points.

  • Patent number: 4589122
Abstract: The invention relates to a panoramic tomography X-ray apparatus, particularly a so-called narrow beam tomographic apparatus for imaging the teeth and jaw area of a patient, wherein an X-ray source (14) and imaging means, e.g. a film cassette (6), are by means of an arm member (13) or the like connected to each other on opposite sides of a target to be imaged and adapted for the actual imaging to be rotated around said target to be imaged. For establishing a constant magnification or enlargement and reducing a radiation dosage the apparatus comprises means for moving said imaging means during the imaging in the direction parallel to a beam of X-rays (15) in a manner that the distance of said imaging means from a selected layer to be imaged remains substantially unchanged. In practice, this is achieved by employing a guide profile (2), from which said imaging means are kept during the imaging at a constant distance by means of a motion in the direction of said beam of X-rays (15).

  • Patent number: 4577340
Abstract: An all metal and ceramic high vacuum rotary anode X-ray tube adapted for mounting on a gantry of a rotational type CT scanner. The evacuated region where X-rays are generated is maintained at about 10.sup.-7 Torr. Vacuum sealing about the rotating shaft of the anode is provided by a magnetic fluid. No bearings are utilized within the evacuated region. Large, long wearing ball bearings that transmit rotation through the vacuum seal are provided about the shaft outside of the high vacuum region where conventional lubricants may be applied. Circulating coolant is applied internally through the anode assuring continual operation of the tube without the need for frequent cool-down waits.

  • Patent number: 4575868
Abstract: A positron-computed tomograph device is enabled to suppress the noise component of data for attenuation correction by continuing measurement of the relative angle between a gamma ray source for attenuation correction and detector pair out of a plurality of detectors thereby determining whether or not, at a given moment, the gamma ray source is present within the zone of measurement allocated for a specific detector pair which has detected coincidence and, when the determination ascertains that the source is not present in the aforementioned zone of measurement, avoiding measurement of coincidence or preventing data on coincidence from being stored in a memory.

  • Patent number: 4550420
Abstract: All elements of the apparatus are mounted on a common base plate which can e housed as a module in a container. A high voltage source and an X-ray radiation source are provided in common in an angular housing. In the vicinity of the free end of the angular housing which end is averted from the high voltage source, a recording unit is positioned which consists substantially of a miniature camera housed in a protective casing with a motor for the film transport, and a film magazine. By this means, there is obtained, with the least space requirement, a distance as long as possible between the X-ray radiation source and the sample holder or recording unit.

  • Patent number: 4539696
Abstract: A target device for an X-ray examination installation has a cassette carrier which permits loading of an X-ray film cassette therein from the left or the right, the cassette carrier is movable from a ready position at a right of the installation through at least one exposure position and to a left side loading position. The cassette carriage has two clamping jaws disposed parallel to each other in a regulating plane, the jaws being two-dimensionally displaceable relative to each other in the regulating plane. The carriage further has a detent for fixing the position of the X-ray film cassette in the longitudinal direction of the clamping jaws. The clamping jaws are urged against each other in the right side loading position by a bias spring, and are urged apart in the left side loading position. A clamping slide having a projection extending into the regulating plane of the device between the clamping jaws is moveable within the cassette carriage in the longitudinal direction of the clamping jaws.

  • Patent number: 4538292
Abstract: A bite block integral with an X-ray film support and extending generally at right angles to the X-ray film support to one side thereof, is formed of upper and lower flat plate portions, one which is integral with the film support, with the other being spaced from said one flat plate portion, normally parallel thereto and connected thereto by means permitting pivoting of the upper plate portion relative to the second about an axis perpendicular to the plane of bite, when positioned in the mouth of the patient between upper and lower tooth rows. An integral bridge may form the pivot axis for the upper and lower plate portions, a rotatable sleeve may effect such pivot connection with the sleeve being shiftable laterally between the upper and lower plate portions. Rectangular block wings may be detachably mounted to respective sides of the bite block plate portions via flanges which are inserted within the gap between the plates to respective sides of the pivot axis between the plates for the bite block.
