  • Patent number: 10073821
Abstract: A method and apparatus for representing two or more related markup language source files in a single delta file is provided. The markup language source files are represented in such a way that the delta file is easily processed to produce one or more merged combinations of the source files. The method and apparatus ensure that any one of the original files can be extracted from the delta file and the delta file remains a valid delta file for any remaining source files. The method and apparatus is adapted to enable the sources files to be aligned with respect to structurally significant elements and textual content so as to reduce repetitions in the delta file of common content. The method and apparatus are suited for use, but not exclusively, with XML documents and files.

  • Patent number: 10025574
Abstract: A digital marketplace stores an installable web application including a first packaged file including a manifest file and a web page. The digital marketplace receives a request for installation of the installable web application from a computing device. The digital marketplaces automatically determines a computing platform type of the computing device, based on the request, and automatically creates a version of an installation file for the installable web application based on the computing platform type. The version of the installation file includes a portion of the first packaged file. The version of the installation file is smaller than the first packaged file. The digital marketplace provides the version of the installation file to computing device.

  • Patent number: 9870205
Abstract: The programming notebook system, methods, and user interfaces described herein provide software developers with enhanced tools by which a programming notebook workflow and session history associated with code cells in a programming notebook may be tracked and maintained. As a developer progresses through a development workflow, the developer can select an option to save a program code card representing some or all of the program code cell inputs. A card editor user interface may present an aggregated listing of all program code the developer has provided across multiple code cells during the current session which the developer can edit, refine, and/or comment. The card editor may also allow the developer to add associated user interface code to display a UI component associated with the program code card, and allow the developer to add a description and tags for the card so that the card can be searched for and reused.

  • Patent number: 9785540
Abstract: Technical solutions are described for facilitating a first computer program product to communicate with a second computer program product. The first computer program product invokes an application programming interface (API) function from an API of the second computer program product, where the first computer program product and the second computer program product use distinct programming languages. The solutions described herein initiate a record corresponding to the API function and invoke an interpreter that calls the API function in the second programming language. Upon receiving, from the interpreter, an indication that the API function has completed execution, result of the execution are obtained from the record and returned to the first computer program product.

  • Patent number: 9778918
Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods to generate native access plan source code are described herein. In one aspect, a database query is received. A query execution plan, including a parent operator and one or more descendent operators, corresponding to the database query is retrieved. Further, a check is made to determine whether the parent operator and the one or more descendent operators include at least one loop. When both the parent operator and the one or more descendent operators include at least one loop, consume points for the at least one loop are defined. The parent operator and the one or more descendent operators are merged based on consume point types to generate native access plan source code.

  • Patent number: 9740735
Abstract: The insertion and processing of programming language code (e.g., C#) in SQL statements, and the dynamic compiling of the code to detect errors prior to statement execution. The SQL statement with arbitrary programming language code can then be executed concurrently as a query on a computer cluster. External libraries can be imported and the associated functionality leveraged from within a SQL statement. The programming language compiler performs checking at build time, rather than retuning an error during the statement execution against the cluster, a potentially costly proposition in both computing time and human resources.

  • Patent number: 9720702
Abstract: The described technology is directed towards an object-oriented programming (OOP) system and library that maps conventional object-oriented concepts such as class hierarchies, interfaces, and static methods and properties onto a prototypal object system such as JavaScript®. Various functions of the OOP system are called to create a class-like structure that is instantiated into an object instance upon request. The OOP system allows for use of a wrapper pattern to wrap selected objects with added functionality such as validation and tracing, and to provide enhanced functionality with respect to properties, such as to call a function associated with a property when the property's value changes, and/or to lazily generate property values only when accessed.
