  • Patent number: 8465813
Abstract: The invention relates to an artificial lawn, in particular for an artificial grass sports field comprising an artificial mat built up of a carrier to which artificial glass fibers are attached. The object of the invention is to provide a new type of artificial lawn, which in particular obviates the need to use an infill material, without this having an adverse effect on the playing characteristics of the sports field. According to the invention, the carrier is at least in part provided with at least one additional material component, which additional material component imposes a permanent volume increase on said part of the carrier under the influence of an external stimulus after being provided in the artificial mat.

  • Patent number: 8407869
Abstract: A carpet is having a raschel fabric to the back face. The raschel fabric consists of wefts which are inlay-yarns and warps which are chain-stitched yarns. The warp consists of chain-stitched ground yarns 3a, 3b, and a pile yarn 4 which forms standing loop piles on specified courses and which is chain-stitched with the ground yarns except said specified courses. The pile yarn consists of two mono-filaments 5, 5. The two mono-filaments 5, 5 are twisted at least one time per the length of each loop pile. Cut piles are formed by mechanically cutting the each loop pile near the top thereof. The two mono-filaments in the cut pile are disjoining each other and standing with inclination at random direction on the raschel fabric. When the carpet is placed on the surface of a mat, each mono-filament which is formed on the back face of the carpet, bites into the surface of the mat. Therefore, it is prevented that the carpet is displaced.

  • Patent number: 8343609
Abstract: A knitted spacer fabric having a tightly knitted bottom layer, a more loosely knitted upper layer and linking fibres extending across the space between the lower and upper faces. Settable material, e.g. cement, is introduced into the space between the upper and lower faces and can be caused to set by the addition of a liquid, e.g. water. Until set, the fabric is flexible and can be shaped but after the material in space has set, the fabric is rigid and can be used as a structural element in a wide range of situations. The bottom layer has an extension that extends beyond the upper face and is connected to the upper face by elastic connecting fibres that draw the extension towards the other face, thereby at least partly closing the space at the edge of the cloth and preventing the settable material from spilling out.

  • Patent number: 8263204
Abstract: A hook surface fastener excellent in the heat resistance, flame resistance, retention of hook shape, and pull-out resistance of hook engaging elements (fibers). The hook surface fastener is composed of a base fabric and the hook engaging elements formed on the base fabric. The base fabric is a woven fabric composed of warp yarns, weft yarns and fibers constituting the hook engaging elements. The warp yarns and the fibers constituting the hook engaging elements are polyphenylene sulfide fibers. The weft yarns are substantially non-twisted, paralleled yarns of polyphenylene sulfide fibers and heat-fusible fibers having a melting point or softening point each being 230° C. or lower. The polyphenylene sulfide fibers constituting the hook engaging elements have a crystal orientation of 85.0 to 90.0% and a crystallinity of 32.0 to 42.0% so that the retention of hook shape is good. The fibers constituting the hook engaging elements are anchored to the base fabric by fusion of the heat-fusible fibers.
