Abstract: User equipment determines a transport block size column indicator representative of a number of resource blocks based on a number of allocated resource blocks, an adjustment factor, and a limiting factor. The transport block size column indicator is determined by applying the adjustment factor to the number of allocated resource blocks and comparing a result of applying the adjustment factor to the number of allocated resource blocks to the limiting factor. The transport block size column indicator is selected as either the result or the limiting factor as the based on the comparison.

  • Patent number: 8942215
Abstract: There is disclosed a system and method for transmission of multiple data streams from a mobile device to a network. In an embodiment, the system includes a multipath wireless router configured to provide a plurality of network connections including cellular, satellite, or wired Ethernet. An encoding module provided on the mobile device is configured to encode high volume data (e.g. high definition video) recorded by the mobile device into multiple data streams in dependence on the number of network connections available for transmission via the multipath wireless router. The encoding module provided on the mobile device transmits the multiple data streams to the wireless router using Wi-Fi to provide a local, short-hop, high capacity network connection. The plurality of network connections available via the multipath wireless router provides the necessary capacity and reliability to transmit a high volume of data, such as high definition video, virtually live.

  • Patent number: 8917628
Abstract: A method for start-up of a network, including a number of nodes, which are connected via channels. The nodes exchange information in the form of messages via the channels. The transition phase of a synchronizing node from its initial phase to a synchronized phase is separated in a first integration phase and a second subsequent cold-start phase. A synchronizing node in the integration phase listens to messages being sent from nodes in the synchronized phase and only reacts to an integration message (i-frame) if the integration message is a valid message. Furthermore, a synchronizing node, wherein integration of the synchronizing node to a set of already synchronized nodes was not successful after a specifiable period, changes into the cold-start phase, in which a cold-start procedure of the node is extracted, wherein in the cold-start phase the node does not react to integration messages of a node in the synchronized phase.

  • Patent number: 8917587
Abstract: A terminal apparatus is disclosed wherein even in a case of applying SU-MIMO and MU-MIMO at the same time, the inter-sequence interference in a plurality of pilot signals used by the same terminal can be suppressed to a low value, while the inter-sequence interference in pilot signal between terminals can be reduced. In this terminal apparatus (200): a pilot information deciding unit (204) decides, based on allocation control information, Walsh sequences of the respective ones of first and second stream groups at least one of which includes a plurality of streams; and a pilot signal generating unit (205) forms a transport signal by using the decided Walsh sequences to spread the streams included in the first and second stream groups. During this, Walsh sequences orthogonal to each other are established in the first and second stream groups, and users are allocated on a stream group-by-stream group basis.

  • Patent number: 8897150
Abstract: A method of discarding logged measurements in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connected mode receives a Minimization of Drive Tests (MDT) configuration from a base station and starts a validity timer upon receiving the MDT configuration. The user equipment in an RRC idle mode logs measurements based on the MDT configuration to collect logged measurements while the validity timer is running. When the validity timer is expired, the user equipment discards the MDT configuration and starts a conservation timer. When the conservation timer is expired, the logged measurements are discarded.

  • Patent number: 8891476
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate resource allocation and management in a wireless communication system. As described herein, a resource grid structure can be utilized to allocate resources for respective users corresponding to a given channel (e.g., a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH)). The resource grid can be constructed using one or more cyclic shifts and a set of four orthogonal covers to provide improved efficiency in resource usage. Further, slots in the resource grid can be allocated to respective users based on user indexes via one or more resource allocation functions. For example, a resource allocation function can step along a first orthogonal cover at increasing cyclic shifts, alternate between second and fourth orthogonal covers at increasing cyclic shifts upon exhaustion of the first orthogonal cover, and step through a third orthogonal cover at increasing cyclic shifts upon exhaustion of the second and fourth orthogonal covers.
