  • Patent number: 10592889
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing cloud-based access to consumer financial information. A cloud-based platform may receive a notification from a server, the notification comprising a request to access consumer data associated with a financial services account. After confirming authorization by both the associated financial services account provider and the consumer, the platform may configure a software object identifying the server and at least a portion of the consumer data that the server is authorized to access. After presentation of the configured software object by the third party server, the platform may verify the configured software object, and provide to the server access to the authorized consumer data. The server may then utilize the provided consumer data to perform a mobile service for the consumer.

  • Patent number: 10460398
Abstract: Disclosed methods and systems crowdsource the detection of usability issues in user experience pages of a tax return preparation system, according to one embodiment. Testing and debugging combinations and sequences of user experience pages can be time consuming and costly, and crowdsourcing the detection of usability issues can reduce the length of time typically consumed in detecting issues in a user experience flow, according to one embodiment. The methods and system include monitoring users' navigation behavior (e.g., system access data) within user experience pages, using predictive models to detect when users are experiencing a potential issue, and providing issue resolution content to both help the users and characterize the potential issue, according to one embodiment.

  • Patent number: 10438181
Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method for expediting the authorization of an electronic payment transaction. Authorization of a transaction at a node of an authorization network is the result of inferring the trustworthiness of a customer to the transaction using data obtained from a different node of the authorization network. The authorization process is expedited by relying on the previous authentication decision of another node, where the previous decision may have been made based on a different payment device or different user inputs. The invention uses a decision made by a first node in the authorization network as a proxy for the authorization decision at a different node, thereby transferring the trustworthiness of a consumer, consumer's device, payment device, or other aspect of the transaction from the first node to the second.

  • Patent number: 10242351
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for a digital wallet for a group of people. A group of customers may gather for an event, e.g., a party, in which each person in the group may purchase goods or services on behalf of the group from a merchant. A customer device executing a digital wallet application program acts like a wallet for the entire group. The customer device creates group tab. The customer device associates images of each person in the group to the group tab, and submits information on the group, including the images, to a merchant device operated by the merchant. The merchant device opens the group tab for managing purchases related to the group. At the end of the event, upon receiving an input to close the tab, the customer device can receive a single bill including a total amount, and divide the total amount among people in the group.

  • Patent number: 10115155
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein allow consumers to lock or unlock their credit files at multiple credit bureaus in real-time or near real-time. The service may allow a consumer to provide identifying information, such as a personal identifier to lock or unlock credit files at a plurality of credit bureaus over a network. Upon receiving the personal identifier, the system may use the personal identifier to translate the identifier into a plurality of access codes for respective credit bureaus, for example by accessing a data structure, such as a database or table, that stores a personal identifier and access codes that are associated with a consumer. The system may then use the access codes to automatically initiate locking or unlocking of credit files for the consumer at the respective credit bureaus.
