  • Patent number: 10426176
Abstract: A vertical electric cooker and smoker having lower air intake vents and upper exhaust vents which together create a more balanced flow and distribution of smoke and reduce the operating pressure of the system to allow a much larger load of wood chips to be used without refilling. A smoke box is also provided for holding and properly combusting the larger quantity of wood chips in an oxygen deficient environment. The smoke box has a false bottom and discharges the smoke through a circuitous exhaust flow path. Also, the electric heating elements of the cooking and smoking apparatus are contained in an assembly which provides an air gap beneath the smoker box and also shields the smoker box to prevent the wood chips in the smoker box from becoming overheated.

In operation, the electrical contactor is wired to selectively control the flow of electricity from the input voltage line to the thermostats and heating elements and the liquid level switch is operative to determine the water level and operate the switching of the electrical contactor based on whether the level of water in the water tank meets a predetermined threshold. As such, the electrical contactor will only permit electricity to flow to the heating element when the liquid level switch indicates that the water tank is substantially full.

  • Patent number: 10363631
Abstract: The invention is a process of repairing cracked or microstructurally damaged portions of irradiated materials, such as nuclear reactor pressure vessels and shrouds. A damaged portion of the irradiated substrate is first removed, such as by electrical discharge machining (EDM). After removing the damaged portion, the recast layer inherent in the EDM process is then removed. Once the repair area substrate material has been removed to a calculated depth, the created cavity is then filled without releasing transmutated elements within the irradiated material. A chamber may be placed on the irradiated material surrounding the repair area to create an isolated work space.
