  • Patent number: 7373611
Abstract: At least one basic program and an auxiliary program run on a computer and collaborate with the computer via an operating system, with windows being displayed on a viewing device allocated to the computer. The auxiliary program determines a basic window pointer on the basis of an identifier that is characteristic of the at least one basic program, the location and size of the basic window on the viewing device being able to be set via the basic window pointer. The auxiliary program, based on this pointer, sets the location and size of the basic window to values determined by the auxiliary program.

  • Patent number: 7293239
Abstract: Enabling an organization to control user assignments and assessment results while enabling a proprietary provider to maintain control over both network distribution of proprietary content comprising the assignments and use of proprietary assessment functions that evaluate the user's performance of the assignments. A student uses a browser to submit a request to a learning management system (LMS) that includes a URL to a network node hosting the proprietary learning content and assessment functions. The LMS sends a hidden form to the browser, causing the browser to automatically redirect to the network node. The proprietary provider then controls distribution of the proprietary learning content to the browser and controls the student's interaction with the proprietary learning content to accomplish the assignment. When the student submits responses to the assignment, the proprietary provider performs proprietary assessment functions and redirects only results data to the LMS through the browser.

  • Patent number: 7225403
Abstract: While names of data and icons are displayed on a selection-purpose display medium, a user selects data. Since the selection-purpose display medium is constituted by such a display medium capable of displaying a moving picture, operability by the user may be guaranteed. The content of the data which is selected by the selection-purpose display medium is displayed on a contents-display-purpose display medium. Since the contents-display-purpose display medium is constituted by a display medium having a memory characteristic, power consumption may be reduced, and this display medium having the memory characteristic may be dismounted. Since the display screen for the selection operation and the display screen for the contents display operation are separately provided, the user can perform the work by viewing the content of the data in correspondence with the data, so that the work efficiency can be increased.
