  • Patent number: 11534183
Abstract: Devices, apparatus and methods for patient-specific MIS procedures. A patient-specific, MIS navigation guide device may include a main body having a proximal surface and a distal surface, wherein the distal surface is configured to face target tissue upon placement of said MIS navigation guide device. Anchors extend distally of the distal surface, and distal ends of the anchors lie on a three dimensional surface that matches contours of the target tissue in locations where the anchors are designed to contact. An operational guide is configured to guide the performance of a surgical operational step on the target tissue along an optimal pathway predefined by the operational guide relative to the main body. A position indicator on the device is interpretable by a surgeon to know when the anchors have not yet been contacted to the target tissue in a predetermined orientation and to know when the anchors have been contacted to the target tissue in the predetermined orientation.

  • Patent number: 11529149
Abstract: A method for performing an efficient and thorough percutaneous discectomy includes making into the patient a percutaneous incision, which is a small stab wound, no more than approximately 10 mm in length. A stimulated combination neuro-monitoring dilating probe is passed through an approximately 10 mm or less skin incision and into a patient's disc space to establish a safe path and trajectory through Kambin's Triangle. Once a neuro-monitoring dilating probe is in the disc space, a second dilator is placed over the neuro-monitoring dilating probe and impacted into the disc space. Neuro-monitoring dilating probe may then be removed. An access portal optionally combined with a force dissipation device may then be placed over the second dilator and into the disc space. The second dilator is removed and then discectomy instruments may be placed through the access portal to perform the discectomy.

  • Patent number: 11478360
Abstract: A motion preserving spinal implant is presented for use in placement between intervertebral space for total replacement of a degenerated spinal disc. The motion preserving spinal implant has a pair of end plates sandwiched around an inner core and an outer core, with the inner core being concentrically positioned within the outer core. The outer core encapsulates the inner core and provides adequate sealing of the inner core while maintaining flexibility and elasticity to advantageously support physiological movements. The inner core is constructed of an elastomeric material and acts as a solid diaphragm in order to resist and withstand localized compression and other forces. The end plates provide anchoring and fusion with adjoining vertebra and hold the inner and outer cores in place. The motion preserving spinal implant restores the normal height and natural function of the degenerated spinal disc and preserves the natural motion of the spine.
