    Abstract: A marking ink composition comprising a colorant, an organic solvent, a resin soluble in said organic solvent and a decaglycerol fatty acid ester represented by the general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R is an acyl group or a hydrogen atom. The marking ink composition of the present invention exhibits an excellent resistance to drying of a nib of a pen so that the nib undergoes no significant drying even when the pen is left to stand with its cap removed.
