Patent number: 10233920Abstract: Systems and methods of the invention relate to diagnosing a compressor. A method may include monitoring a pressure of compressed air within a reservoir, actuating a piston within a cylinder of the compressor, and detecting a leak condition of an exhaust valve of the cylinder through recognition of a change in the monitored pressure of the compressed air within the reservoir during a time period in which the piston is actuated. A system is also disclosed including an engine, a compressor operatively connected to the engine, and a controller that is operable to determine a condition of the compressor.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2013Date of Patent: March 19, 2019Assignee: GE GLOBAL SOURCING LLCInventors: Bret Dwayne Worden, Richard C. Patent number: 10167859Abstract: The systems, devices, and methods described herein describe a valve cover assembly that enables the easy removal and insertion of a screw gland into a threaded ring. The valve cover assembly includes an outside housing that provides an offset between a fluid end module and a top end of the valve cover assembly. A spring is positioned between the top end and the threaded ring and biased to provide a downward force on the threaded ring. The screw gland applies a reaction force against a valve plug. A piston is positioned at a base of the threaded ring in contact with the fluid end module. When actuated, the piston overcomes the downward force and lifts the threaded ring from the fluid end module. This reduces the force on the plug and allows a user to remove the screw gland by hand (and install as well) and without additional machinery required.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2015Date of Patent: January 1, 2019Assignee: Nabors Industries, Inc.Inventor: Steven K. Patent number: 10072662Abstract: Systems and methods of controlling the speed of a pump configured to move liquid through a pump system are described. The actual motor speed of the pump motor is controlled by adjusting a current applied to the motor based on the difference between the actual motor speed and the target motor speed according to a gain setting. A first gain value is applied as the gain setting when the difference between the actual motor speed and the target motor speed does not exceed a first threshold. However, a second, higher gain value is applied when the difference between the actual motor speed and the target motor speed exceeds the first threshold.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: Regal Beloit America, Inc.Inventor: Justin M.
