The electromechanical acoustical actuator can be uncoupled from the screen in an operational setup. The controller can provide a signal to the electromechanical acoustical actuator for causing the electromechanical acoustical actuator to output energy to displace air that is (i) in front of the electromechanical acoustical actuator and (ii) between the electromechanical acoustical actuator and the screen. The open baffle can prevent displaced air behind the electromechanical acoustical actuator from affecting the screen.

The controller may compare the amount of time elapsed from the application of the fixed voltage to an expected amount of elapsed time from the application of the fixed voltage to the I/P coil after which a digital logic line trip will occur for a properly functioning I/P coil and diagnose, based on the comparison, a failure in the I/P converter.
