  • Patent number: 10920772
Abstract: A pump with two independent motors is disclosed. The first motor is mechanically connected to a first rotor comprising a first plurality of teeth radiating from the center of the first rotor. The second motor is mechanically connected to a second rotor comprising a second plurality of teeth radiating from the center of the first rotor, wherein the first plurality of teeth meshes with the second plurality of teeth. A sealed case may house the first and second rotors, and the case may include a suction inlet and a pressure outlet. Rotating the rotors propels a liquid from the suction inlet to the pressure outlet. Because the motors are independent of each other, when one motor fails to rotate the other motor will rotate both rotors and maintain the propelling liquid from the suction inlet to the pressure outlet. The pump may be a gear pump or a rotary lobe pump.

  • Patent number: 10844875
Abstract: A self-cooling electric submersible pump having an integrated cooling system is provided. The cooling system is configured to cool and lubricate the electric motor section of the pump by expanding a compressed multi-component coolant fluid through flow channels within the motor. The coolant fluid contains a first fluid having a boiling point of at least 230° C. and a second fluid having a boiling point of less than 150° C. During pump operation the first fluid acts as a largely incompressible liquid and the second fluid behaves as a compressible gas. A compressor compresses the second fluid in the presence of the first fluid to produce a hot compressed coolant fluid from which heat is transferred to a production fluid being processed by the pump. The compressed coolant fluid is expanded through an orifice and into the motor flow channels, returning thereafter to the compressor.

  • Patent number: 10788040
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of operating an electric motor-driven centrifugal pump (3) in a hydraulic system (4) having at least one self-controlled load, where a gradient (dQakt/dt) of the volumetric flow rate (Qakt) of the centrifugal pump (3) is determined and the current set-point delivery head (Hsoll) of the centrifugal pump (3) is calculated from a mathematical operation on the gradient (dQakt/dt) weighted with a gain factor (K) and the last specified set-point delivery head (Hsoll, alt). The operation describes a positive feedback between the set-point delivery head (Hsoll) and the volumetric flow rate (Qakt). The gain factor (K) is determined from a calculation instruction that is modified dynamically during operation of the centrifugal pump (3) taking into consideration the current operating point of the centrifugal pump (3) and taking into consideration a current and/or at least one past state of the hydraulic system (4).
