  • Patent number: 12704225
Abstract: One or more indicators provide an indication of fueling status of a hydrogen powered vehicle. One or more sensors detect temperature and/or other characteristics of the fuel provided to the vehicle and provide an electrical signal to one or more of the indicators to permit an indication of fueling status. The indicators, which may be visual and/or audible, may be positioned on the fueling apparatus and on the vehicle in the vicinity of a fueling receptacle. The indicators may also be positioned elsewhere on the vehicle and may be separate from the vehicle such as on or around a fueling station and/or on separate computerized devices. Certain of the visual indicators may be positioned on a fueling hose and may include electrically energized paint and an illuminated sheath.

  • Patent number: 12704224
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transporting a liquid gas container is described herein. The liquid gas container is transported at an increased internal pressure. Transporting the liquid gas container at an increased internal pressure distributes the downward load of the liquid gas container, such that the downward load of the liquid gas container is distributed more evenly or so that a greater amount of the downward load is felt in the center of the liquid gas container compared to the outer portion of the liquid gas container. This enables transport without cracking of a base support slab during transit when the support slab is only able to be supported from the center due to narrow road conditions.

  • Patent number: 12692019
Abstract: A fuel line, terminating in a refuel connector, is used to fuel/defuel an aircraft, for example with liquid hydrogen. A barrier is disposed around the area where the refuel connector connects to an aircraft fuel port, and is sealed against the aircraft wing with a seal. A gas line runs generally parallel to the aircraft fuel line, and supplies inert gas, for example nitrogen, into the volume defined by the barrier. The inert gas flushes out air present around the refuel connector such that the oxygen concentration in that area is significantly lowered. This prevents ignition of fuel in the event of a fuel leak from the fuel line structure.

  • Patent number: 12650205
Abstract: Gaseous fueling systems and methods are provided for dispensing fuel to a vehicle or container. The distribution systems speed up the filling process and may eliminate the use of expensive cooling systems required in the art. The methods utilize sequences of filling and emptying the vehicle gas storage tank to control the temperature of the gas inside the tank. These filling and emptying sequences may overlap. The methods repeatedly dispense fuel to the vehicle fuel tank at a first flow rate and for a first period of time and remove fuel from the fuel tank at a second flow rate for a second period of time, which periods may overlap, to maintain fuel temperature within a desired temperature range and until the vehicle fuel tank is filled to a desired level. In addition, the fill-up mass flowrate can be maximized to system capabilities so a fill-up can be completed in about one minute.
