  • Patent number: 10237844
Abstract: A radio network node receives an indication from the user equipment that the user equipment is going to perform an inter-frequency measurement for positioning, which inter-frequency measurement requires measurement gaps. The radio network node may determine a measurement gap pattern for performing the inter-frequency measurement and may signal, to the user equipment, information to initiate use of the determined measurement gap pattern in the user equipment. Alternatively the user equipment configures the measurement gap pattern itself based on a set of pre-defined rules.

  • Patent number: 10212571
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a vehicle emergency notification method and apparatus using interaction with an external terminal. Some of functions of a conventional vehicle emergency notification apparatus are performed by a replaceable or detachable external terminal. The apparatus may provide notification of a vehicle emergency via interaction with the external terminal. The external terminal generates a Minimum Set of Data (MSD) related to an accident involving the vehicle. A proxy Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) receives the MSD from the external terminal. The PSAP finally determines whether an accident involving the vehicle has occurred via interaction with a proxy PSAP FE and interaction with a vehicle occupant, and requests dispatch from an emergency agency if it is finally determined that the accident involving the vehicle has occurred.

  • Patent number: 10187130
Abstract: Using High-beam and low-beam transmission signals that have different antenna tilts, different beam-widths, and different polarizations than one another may provide performance advantages in wireless networks. The high-beam transmission signal and the low-beam transmission signal may have orthogonal polarizations. For example, the high-beam transmission signal and the low-beam transmission signal may be linearly polarized signals having different electromagnetic field (E-field) polarization angles with respect to the y-axis, e.g., +/? forty-five degrees with respect to a vertically polarized wave. As another example, the high-beam transmission signal may be a vertically polarized signal, and the low-beam transmission signal may be a horizontally polarized signal, or vice-versa. In addition to having orthogonal polarizations, the low-beam transmission signal may have a greater antenna beam down-tilt angle, and a wider beam-width than the high-beam transmission signal.

  • Patent number: 10178972
Abstract: In some implementations, a mobile device can adjust an alarm setting based on the sleep onset latency duration detected for a user of the mobile device. For example, sleep onset latency can be the amount of time it takes for the user to fall asleep after the user attempts to go to sleep (e.g., goes to bed). The mobile device can determine when the user intends or attempts to go to sleep based on detected sleep ritual activities. Sleep ritual activities can include those activities a user performs in preparation for sleep. The mobile device can determine when the user is asleep based on detected sleep signals (e.g., biometric data, sounds, etc.). In some implementations, the mobile device can determine recurring patterns of long or short sleep onset latency and present suggestions that might help the user sleep better or feel more rested.
