  • Patent number: 11601224
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities (e.g. aspects of entities, interfaces and procedures in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and/or network layers LI, L2, 13) are disclosed for low latency medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) assembly in wireless systems, such as 5G flexible radio access technology (RAT) (5gFLEX). Latency may be reduced, for example, by WTRU determination of network transmission parameters and signaling prior to a transmission grant. A WTRU may receive a modulation and coding scheme (MCS), resource range, etc. prior to a grant, e.g., for use in future grants. Data blocks may be incrementally created/encoded prior to a grant. Data units may be segmented, assembled and multiplexed, for example, based on data block sizes that allow MAC and radio link control (RLC) processing prior to a grant. Flexible grant sizes may be provided for early generation of transport blocks before a grant.

  • Patent number: 11576196
Abstract: The invention relates to a control channel signal for use in a mobile communication system providing at least two different scheduling modes. Further the invention relates to a scheduling unit for generating the control channel signal and a base station comprising the scheduling unit. The invention also relates to the operation of a mobile station and a base station for implementing a scheduling mode using the control channel signal. In order to facilitate the use of different scheduling schemes for user data transmission while avoiding an additional flag for indicating the scheduling mode in the control signaling, the invention proposes the use of code points in existing control channel signal fields. Further, the invention proposes a specific scheduling mode for use in combination with the proposed control channel signal. According to this scheduling mode control channel information is only provided for retransmissions, while initial transmissions are decoded using blind detection.

  • Patent number: 11552899
Abstract: A system and method for automatically scaling consumer servers in a data processing system. To build an automatic scaling system, the present disclosure allows consumers to obtain additional information, e.g., the number of events that await to be read from an aggregator when receiving an event from the aggregator. This additionally obtained number provides a direct gauge for the data processing system to determine when the consumers are over-provisioned, i.e., when the number of events left to be read is close to zero, as well as when the consumers are under-provisioned, e.g., when the number of events left to be read continues to increase. As a result, the consumers can be automatically scaled to handle the dynamic data processing demand while providing optimal resource allocation.

  • Patent number: 11553362
Abstract: In a wireless communication relay, a network transceiver wirelessly detects wireless access points. The network transceiver beamforms wireless test signals and wirelessly transmits the beamformed wireless test signals to the wireless access points. A user transceiver in the relay wirelessly detects cross-relay interference levels when the network transceiver wirelessly transmits the beamformed wireless test signals to the wireless access points. The user transceiver transfers the cross-relay interference levels for the wireless access points to the network transceiver. The network transceiver selects one of the wireless access points based on the cross-relay interference levels for the wireless access points. The network transceiver wirelessly exchanges user data with the selected one of the wireless access points and exchanges the user data with the user transceiver.

  • Patent number: 11546918
Abstract: A small cell communication system is disclosed in which an apparatus (e.g. a central controller) controls allocation of frequency resources in the cells. The apparatus obtains respective information (e.g. RSRP) representing a quality of communication at each user equipment (UE) in the cells; determines, based on the received information, whether a corresponding UE is a subject of interference and, when the corresponding UE is a subject of interference, identifies at least one aggressor causing the interference to that UE. In each cell, the UEs served by that cell are grouped such that UEs having a common aggressor (or common aggressors) are grouped into respective group(s), and any UEs not subject to interference are grouped into another group. The apparatus allocates at least one frequency for each UE based on the respective group into which that UE has been grouped.
