Abstract: A leak proof container and a method of forming the container from a blank. The blank includes a bottom panel, first and second side panels connected to the bottom panel at opposing lateral edges, and first and second end portions located at opposing longitudinal ends of the blank. Each end portion includes an inner end panel connected to the bottom panel, an outer end panel connected to the inner end panel, and first and second corner panels forming gussets connected to a respective one of the first and second side panels and connected to the inner end panel. An adhesive area is located on one side of the blank and comprises at least a portion on each of the outer end panel and the inner end panel. The adhesive area adheres the gussets to the inner end panel and to the outer end panel.

Abstract: A locking arrangement for a container that has a lid pivotally attached with a base includes a flap that is pivotally attached at a first end thereof to the lid at a peripheral edge of the lid. The flap has a tab projecting laterally away from a second end of the flap. A frangible portion of the lid is defined by a perforation that terminates to encompass the first end of the flap. A slot is formed through an upwardly-projecting peripheral wall of a base of the container. As such, with the lid of the container moving towards a closed position, and with the tab in a folded position, the flap and tab are inserted through the slot of the peripheral wall of the base, thereafter as the tab clears the slot the resilient material urges the tab into an expanded position to lock the container.

Abstract: A container can include a container portion comprising a plurality of walls and a first panel pivotably coupled to the container portion and configured to pivot between a first position where the first panel is arranged outside of the container portion and a second position where the first panel is arranged inside the container portion. The container can further include a tubular polymeric sleeve disposed around the first panel and covering a first surface of the first panel and a second surface on the opposite side of the first panel from the first surface, where the polymeric sleeve is unsecured to the first panel.

Abstract: A unique pizza box apparatus and methods of forming and using said pizza box are disclosed. The pizza box is formed with an additional plate pocket for receiving plates therein. The pocket is connected to an inside surface of the pizza box lid and expands a distance less than that of the depth of the pizza box. On the pizza box lid is a cut or perforated plate pocket lid with a living hinge on one end and a lid tab on a substantially opposite end for grabbing and rotatably opening the plate pocket lid with respect to the pizza box lid. A pizza bumper may further be included within the box to ensure separation between a base of the plate pocket and a pizza once the pizza is placed within the box. Napkins and/or further utensils may also be placed within the plate pocket if so desired.

Abstract: A fastener is configured to fix a pair of opposing flaps of a box in a closed state. The fastener includes a receiving part, a pressing part opposing the receiving part, a linking part interposed between the receiving part and the pressing part, spaces on both sides of the linking part between the receiving part and the pressing part constituting insertion areas into which the flaps of the box are to be inserted, and a cutter part on the receiving part, the pressing part, or the linking part.

Abstract: The disclosed systems and methods relate to improved cases for securely storing and shipping products. A case can include a back panel, an upper foldable section, and a lower foldable section. Each of the features of the case can be manufactured on a single sheet of material. The upper and lower foldable sections include panels having apertures for holding the top and bottom of a product, respectively. The case is foldable into a closed configuration such that a lower holder panel, a lower front panel, and a bottom panel form a lower box configured to hold the bottom of the first product, and an upper holder panel, an upper front panel, and a top panel form an upper box configured to hold the top of the first product.

Abstract: An improved shipping article includes a single piece of substantially planar material with parallel scores formed therein thereby defining substantially planar sections of the shipping article, the planar sections of the shipping article defining, when the piece of substantially planar material is folded along the parallel scores, a first pair of opposing, substantially parallel, spaced-apart sides, a second pair of opposing, substantially parallel, spaced-apart sides that are substantially perpendicular to the first pair of sides, and a pair of dividing walls located adjacent each other and dividing a compartment formed by the first and second pairs of sides into two sub-compartments. A top extension is sized and shaped to fold down to form a top of one of the sub-compartments. Each of the top extensions includes a hole therein sized to receive a human finger or thumb to facilitate lifting, and shelves form sub-sub-compartments.

In the open configuration, the first compartment can be separated from the second compartment and resealed with the lid flap.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a new and improved paper-based container. More specifically, the invention relates to a paper-based container that is comprised of a relatively low-density polyethylene coating on one or both surfaces of the container and at least two skive flaps, wherein each of said skive flaps is created during the manufacturing process. The skive flap further comprises at least one leading edge of the container body, and prevents unwanted moisture from entering the container and the contents of the container from saturating the paper-based material. One skive flap is preferably folded in a manner in which a portion of the outside surface of the container is adhered to the inside surface, and a second skive flap is adhered to the outside surface.

Abstract: A container can include a main body and a lid. The main body can include a first panel having a receptacle formed therein and a second panel having a perforated tab. The lid is pivotably coupled to the main body and includes a locking tab. The container can be locked in a closed configuration by inserting the locking tab of the lid into the receptacle of the main body. The perforated tab of the main body retains the locking tab of the lid within the receptacle of the main body when the perforated tab is in a first position relative to the second panel. The container can be unlocked by moving the perforated tab from the first position to a second position relative to the second panel and by removing the locking tab of the lid from the receptacle of the main body.

Abstract: A composite package, in particular a beverage carton package for liquid foodstuffs is depicted and described which consists at least partially of a package laminate, having a package base body including package edges, an at least partially angular package base and package gable wherein the package base body defines, in an idealised manner, a package front side, package rear side and at least two lateral package sides attaching to the package rear side as well as a package laminate and a package sleeve blank for manufacturing such a composite package. In order to improve grip and ergonomy for an easy to manufacture package, provision is made for the package front side to have a positive arching at least in sections which in each case passes into a lateral package side for a grip panel to be formed at least in sections in the region of the package rear side.

Abstract: Blanks for forming clamshell containers and the resulting clamshell containers are described. The clamshell containers include a tray and a lid that are hingedly connected together. The tray is liquid tight, and typically includes gussets on each corner to prevent leakage. The lid and tray can be locked via at least one locking mechanism, optionally two different locking mechanisms. A first locking mechanism involves a front panel on the tray, with an extension portion that terminates in a hook or tab. The extension portion can fold over the front panel of the lid, and the hook or tabs slide into a slit(s) on the top of the lid. An optional second locking mechanism involves lid detents and tray detents. In some embodiments, in the locked position, the lid detents are underneath the tray detents and the tray detents retain the lid detents in place until a force is applied.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a hybrid package and carrier system. The system can include a container for storing a plurality of items set at a first position, wherein the container is configured with a trapezoidal configuration. The system can also include the plurality of items set at a second position, wherein the plurality of items are positioned within the container to enable the container to store the plurality of items. Further, the system can include a cover set at a third position with a trapezoidal shape, wherein the cover is positioned over the container to protect the plurality of items stored in the container. The system can also include a handle configured to an exterior portion of the cover with the trapezoidal shape, wherein the handle is set to lift the cover along with the plurality of items stored within the container in a vertical direction.

Abstract: The invention relates to a packaging system including box and wrapping papers of conventional type having a square folded bottom and side folds providing a box shaped assembly where the proposed assembly can be used for packaging of various types of items. The assembly is easy to use and can be used for packaging of consumer goods, gifts, surprise or mystery items, in promotional schemes or brand activation and marketing activities.

Abstract: A planter packaging arrangement is disclosed that comprises a packaging element and at least one planter mounter therein. The packaging element includes a bottom surface, a top surface and two pairs of opposing side walls collectively defining a generally enclosed space. A first opening is defined through the top surface and aligned with a second opening defined through the bottom surface of the packaging element. The at least one planter is mounted within the packaging element, with an open top end disposed within the enclosed space of the packaging element. The second opening is aligned with the open top end such that an interior of the planter is accessible through the second opening of the bottom surface of the packaging element. A portion of the body portion extends through the first opening of the top surface of the packaging element such that the bottom surface is disposed above the top surface.
