  • Patent number: 8527940
Abstract: A processing device executing an integrated development environment scans for available projects, each project having a directory structure that contains source code. The processing device identifies available projects that match predetermined criteria. The processing device then automatically groups the projects that match the predetermined criteria into a working set, wherein projects arranged into the working set are visually presented to a user together, and wherein one or more operations can be performed on every project in the working set based on a single user command.

  • Patent number: 8527976
Abstract: A system and method for program verification includes generating a product transaction graph for a concurrent program, which captures warnings for potential errors. The warnings are filtered to remove bogus warnings, by using constraints from synchronization primitives and invariants that are derived by performing one or more dataflow analysis methods for concurrent programs. The dataflow analysis methods are applied in order of overhead expense. Concrete execution traces are generated for remaining warnings using model checking.

  • Patent number: 8522221
Abstract: A method and system for the automatic generation of user guides. Specifically, the method of the present invention includes accessing an abstract processor model of a processor, wherein said abstract processor model is represented using a hierarchical architecture description language (ADL). The abstract processor model includes a plurality of instructions arranged in a hierarchical structure. An internal representation of the abstract processor model is generated by flattening the abstract processor model. The flattening process generates a plurality of rules grouped by common convergent instructions. Each rule describes an instruction path through the hierarchical structure that converges at a corresponding convergent instruction. An instruction-set documentation is automatically generated from the plurality of rules, wherein the instruction-set documentation is arranged convergent instruction by convergent instruction.

  • Patent number: 8516440
Abstract: Certain embodiments provide an intuitive interactive media content development environment that simplifies the creation of actions. For example, it may allow users to easily specify that a shape will move when the media content is first executed or that a web page will be opened when a button is clicked within the media. Certain embodiments provide a timeline interface showing the sequence and duration of one or more such actions. For example, a timeline component may allow a user to change the delay or duration associated with an action by manipulating the timeline. A timeline may comprise one or more visual components representing actions and action attributes and allow a user to adjust action attributes by manipulating the visual components.

  • Patent number: 8516454
Abstract: A computing method includes accepting a definition of a computing task (68), which includes multiple atomic Processing Elements (PEs—76) having execution dependencies (80). Each execution dependency specifies that a respective first PE is to be executed before a respective second PE. The computing task is compiled for concurrent execution on a multiprocessor device (32), which includes multiple processors (44) that are capable of executing a first number of the PEs simultaneously, by arranging the PEs, without violating the execution dependencies, in an invocation data structure (90) including a second number of execution sequences (98) that is greater than one but does not exceed the first number. The multiprocessor device is invoked to run software code that executes the execution sequences in parallel responsively to the invocation data structure, so as to produce a result of the computing task.

  • Patent number: 8499282
Abstract: Scripting Language based applications can be limited in their ability to supply and execute sophisticated logic and complex processing. More traditional programming languages contain explicit function and/or procedure calls to implement more complex functionality, however, these languages use more complicated syntax and traditionally require mosophisticated programming knowledge to use. There are provided systems and methods for extending the capabilities of an application program for execution by a terminal. The application includes a script based workflow and non-executable content. One such method comprises loading the workflow for interpretation by a script interpreter, such that the workflow is configured for having a plurality of executable elements. This method also provides a global symbol structure for reference by the executable elements, the global symbol structure including addressing for coupling selected ones of the executable elements to corresponding external components.

  • Patent number: 8495624
Abstract: A method for provisioning a suitable operating system environment to a client machine in a client-server architecture including the at least one client machine in communication with a plurality of servers over a network. A pre-execution boot program is executed on powering the client machine, the pre-execution boot program being configured to identify a Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) server to obtain an Internet Protocol (IP) address for the client machine. Next, the client machine establishes contact with an installation server, which is coupled to the client machine over a network. Thereafter, the client machine receives a first software module from the installation server based on processor type of the client machine. The first software module scans the client machine using to obtain a list of hardware elements on the client machine and the client machine transmits the list of hardware elements on the client machine to the installation server.

  • Patent number: 8473920
Abstract: This invention includes a state machine entering a first state upon cold reset of the data processing system. Trace information collection and trace information export are prohibited in the first state. The state machine transits from said first state to a second state upon a change in a predetermined bit to a first state. Direct memory access setup is enabled in the second state. The state machine transits from the second state to a third state upon set up of the direct memory access. Trace information collection is enabled in the third state. The state machine transits from the third state to a fourth state upon a direct memory access request corresponding to the direct memory access setup in the second state. Trace data export via direct memory access from the trace collection unit is enabled in the fourth state.

  • Patent number: 8464228
Abstract: The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a process that includes receiving, during a computer programming process for a software program, a specification of a software module having a defined functionality for use by the software program. The software module is stored in a central repository having different versions of the software module. The process also includes compiling the software program. The compilation initiates steps including filtering versions of the software module that do not meet the specification. The specification corresponds to more than one version of the software module. The steps also include selecting, from versions that have not been filtered out, a version of the software module. The selection is based on one or more predetermined rules. The process also includes returning the selected version of the software module for local storage with the software program.

  • Patent number: 8458656
Abstract: A content handler application that may be provided on a mobile device to provide extensions to a web based application. The content handler may provide the web application access features such as the camera, GPS, A/V input and output, file system and secure uploads. The content handler may be a certified application for use on the mobile device and calls applications to access the features of the mobile device. The web applications may be updated without concern for the content handler. Because the user experience and business logic are contained in the web application they are unaffected by the certification and multi-platform issues as this is limited to only the content handler.
