  • Patent number: 8515338
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed which relate to a plurality of multimedia devices operating on a common time base having the ability to synchronize playback of a multimedia sample. A user initiates a synchronized playback by sending a request to one or more multimedia devices across a network. The user selects a multimedia sample and a start time. When the request is received by other multimedia devices on the network it can be accepted or denied. If the recipient accepts, the multimedia sample can be downloaded or cached before or streamed at the time of play. Many can enjoy listening to the same multimedia sample even using headphones. This enables a group to enjoy synchronized movement without requiring a sound system other than headphones.

  • Patent number: 8494455
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a resonant transmit/receive switch with transformer gate/source coupling. The resonant transmit/receive (T/R) switch includes a switchable inductor having a first inductance value for use in receive (Rx) mode and a second inductance value for use in transmit (Tx) mode. The first inductance value is used for input matching to a low noise amplifier in Rx mode. The second inductance value is selected to resonant with parasitic capacitance of the antenna port to produce a high impedance in Tx mode. In one implementation, the switchable inductor is gate sourced coupled to at least one of first and second inductors of a low noise amplifier (LNA), thereby allowing use of smaller inductors due to the resulting coupling factor.

  • Patent number: 8437715
Abstract: A device under test (DUT) may be connected to test equipment. The test equipment may include a multi-carrier signal generator and a host computer. The signal generator may provide a multi-carrier test signal that is fed to input-output devices of the DUT. The DUT may tune to a given radio channel on the test signal. The DUT may output an audio signal to the host computer to test for audio quality. Once desired measurements have been taken, the DUT may scan up or down to the next available radio channel on the test signal. The signal generator may not need to be reconfigured between scans, because the test signal contains multiple radio channels. The host computer may run a test program that directs a test program running on the DUT to perform the required tasks during testing.

  • Patent number: 8396507
Abstract: A wireless communication network includes a number of users communicating via wireless communication devices. The network determines a current condition of the network, including factors such as the number of users coupled to a particular portion of the wireless communication network. The current conditions are used to access data in a data storage structure to determine an expected communication speed based on the current network conditions. The expected communication speed for each wireless communication device is transmitted to the wireless communication device and shown on the display. The display of expected communication speed may take various forms, such as a numeric display, graphical display, color display, or an alphabetic display. The network dynamically monitors changes in the current conditions and recalculates the expected communication speed as appropriate.
