  • Patent number: 7617058
Abstract: A biometric apparatus and a method thereof using bio signals are provided. The apparatus includes an ADC, a periodic signal extractor, a template storing portion, a comparator. The ADC performs sampling of an input bio signal to convert the sampled bio signal into a digital signal. The periodic signal extractor extracts the periodic signals from the digital signal. The template storing portion registers a plurality of users and stores periodic signals for the respective registered users in a form of templates. The comparator computes similarity between the periodic signals outputted from the periodic signal extractor and the respective templates to select a template whose similarity is greatest and recognizes a user that corresponds to the selected template as a user who corresponds to the input bio signal.

  • Patent number: 7617072
Abstract: The device comprises means for taking a height measurement (H) and a plurality of circumference measurements (b, c, g) on the limb of the patient at different predetermined z-positions (zb, zc, zg). A first data file includes the coordinates (X0, Y0, Z0) of a first mesh of points (24) representative of the morphological characteristics of a reference limb, these points being distributed over the surface of the reference limb along a succession of outlines (26) defined at different successive Z-positions. Morphology generator means recalculate the coordinates of the first mesh of points as a function of the height measurement (H) and of the circumference measurements (b, c, g) in such a manner as to produce a second data file comprising the coordinates (x, y, z) of a second mesh of points (52) representative of morphological characteristics of the patient's limb.

  • Patent number: 7613591
Abstract: A central test facility transmits wirelessly test data to a local test facility, which tests electronic devices using the test data. The local test facility transmits wirelessly response data generated by the electronic devices back to the central test facility, which analyzes the response data to determine which electronic devices passed the testing. The central test facility may provide the results of the testing to other entities, such as a design facility where the electronic devices were designed or a manufacturing facility where the electronic devices where manufactured. The central test facility may accept requests for test resources from any of a number of local test facilities, schedule test times corresponding to each test request, and at a scheduled test time, wirelessly transmits test data to a corresponding local test facility.

  • Patent number: 7603242
Abstract: A method of detecting a fuel leak from a fuel store of an aircraft where a processor receives inputs relating to the amount of fuel in the fuel store and to the rate of fuel used by the aircraft. The processor defines a fuel flow system state defined by a noise-compensated measures of the amount of fuel in the fuel store, a fuel leak amount estimate and a fuel leak rate estimate. The processor periodically calculates a new estimated state of the system in view of a previous estimated state and values of the inputs. The processor monitors the fuel leak amount estimate and the fuel leak rate estimate and if either exceeds a respective threshold value send a signal to a fuel leak warning device.

  • Patent number: 7603251
Abstract: A magnetic anomaly sensing system and method uses at least eight triaxial magnetometer (TM) sensors arranged to define a cubic space. Each TM sensor measures a local magnetic field associated with a target region and generates magnetic field data indicative thereof. The magnetic field data is processed in accordance with a magnetic scalar triangulation and ranging (STAR) processing scheme to determine a plurality of gradient contractions CT,I at a corresponding plurality of measurement points I to include at least at the center of each face of the cubic space. Gradient contraction pairs are defined for each sensors' X, Y, Z magnetic sensing axes. A directional derivative ?CT is determined using the gradient contraction pairs and the baseline distances therebetween. A unit vector, calculated using the directional derivative ?CT, is used in determining a projection distance from each of the measurement points toward the target region.
